Tag Heuer watch repair

I've got a Tag Heuer watch and I've lost the push in pin on the side which now makes the watch non waterproof.

I called into Goldsmiths jewellers and was quoted £250 for a service!

Does anyone have any contacts for a watch repairer around Birmingham area?

Thanks

that sounds about right,
the wifes service was 175 alone

the price will depend on if you use an authorized dealer
#3
Agreed, take it to an authorised dealer and have them service it too. You cant beat them doing it.

OP is the watch covered on home insurance policy? accidental damage claim perhaps to cover repair?

That is exactly what has happened to my tag. Sounds like the thread has gone on the screw in crown. I reckon u could get it done for about 60 quid if u go to an independent jeweller. That's what i was quoted.

Thanks for all your replies, didn't think to check home insurance!

Hi Think,

I had my watch fixed by these guys after some water got into it, it started to loose time and fog up after I had a local jeweller replace the battery:

Couldnt recommend them enough.

Never had a problem with my £2.99 watch that I bought from Lidl's about 7 years ago, it still keeps 100% accurate time.

I have a Tag F1 and I love it, I know all about the 2.99 watches, personal taste, some people are not into their watches :)

I tell you a great watch, Swatch, I keep a small collection, and Tissot, I have a we Moto GP Tissot. Sorry off topic :p

totally agree with you , I have an Omega seamaster co axial and love it too
it feels a thousand times better to wear than a quartz but try telling that to someone wearing a 2.99 watch and they just laugh at you
edit....just found out the tag f1 is quartz, sorry

The Seamaster is a nice watch, is that the one with the orange bezel? I am a bit of a Swatch fan also, I have a few auto Swatch's and for the money they are excellent. There was a good deal on a Tag Carrera here a while back, by the time I decided to buy it they sold out :)

Thats it, the Planet Ocean, a tasty bit of kit :

Dont have 3.5k for a watch at the minute, but it is on the want list

if anyone watched the apprentice there were a couple of nice watches. I noticed an orange PO as above ^ plus a rolex, I think it was a submariner. But you sometimes get some nice Tags and Lord Sugar has a few tasty items everynow and then. I recall seeing a Frank Muller on there, think its called crazy something, weird looking numbers on a squre face....kinda of random bit of info there lol

I own a tag, paid 1400 quid for it years ago and im told the equavelent is now worth over 2 grand. Had nothing but trouble with it. Wish i bought an omega. Cheaper watches worth 50 quid owned by friends have been less problematic.

This is the watch i would love to have but cant justify the price.

You need to seek help.(_;)

What does any watch do, other than tell the time?

No doubt you will see sense when you grow up.

I would highly recommend Banks Lyons. They are based in Lancaster but it would be worth contacting them to get a reliable quote even if you decide not to use them.

Why do people buy espensive cars, phones, clothes etc? Because they want nice things, they want nice design etc. Not everyone wants a gippo lidl watch (if they even sell them) on their wrist.

This is a bit too complicated looking for me, I think for a watch to become a classic it has to be unfussy :) I always prefer time & date watches to chronograph

Yeah it is even nicer in the flesh, nice watch for the Motorsport fans :) , the face is like carbon fibre. I gave £280 for it (In the friends watch shop), I think they went up to £340. It may be harder to get the older models now, I think mine is the 08 Moto Gp, the 09 is tasty also. The helmet ones are cool, there is also a Nicky Haden limted Ed helmet model

I had to put my Tag Aqua Racer on the home insurance as a specified item as it was over £1800, not sure if your home insurance will cover it if not ?

I had a cracking yellow tag heur loved it, got it when I passed my training in the Army. Some skank robbed it off my after a night of rumpy pumpy.
