Roughly how much do you think it would cost for a 6 mile journey in a metered taxi?

About £8 - £9 I think.

Think it's about 6 miles into town for me and it's always around £9, thats metered, not a bookable taxi firm.

The word 'the' suggests there is only one. Do you mean 'a'? Or is there only one in your world?

that might be how it's supposed to be, but I think most drivers make it up as they go along, especially on a Saturday night when the passenger is drunk... lol

Yes that's the one... you suddenly live in an area that takes 20 mins longer to get to!

it depends on where you live ...not all firms charge the same, we have a firm that charge by the mile so doesn't incur any waiting time costs....phone the taxi firm for a quote

the taxi fare usually depends on where you live, and most of the time the rate is set by the local authority, but also depends if the driver charges you a set fare or goes on the meter. Personally I only charge a set fare when the passenger is drunk:thumbsup:
