It will only affect a very small amount of classes as it is a minority teachers union, not the main union hope this helps.

My 3 came home with letters yesterday saying that their school will be closing on Thursday :w00t: I would have liked a bit more notice :whistling: turns out that most of them around here are too (Penarth nr. Cardiff btw)

Years 9-11 are allowed the day off on wednesday but the sixth formers (inc me) have to come in. The reason i was given was because the lower school has to be supervised throughout all lessons where as we dont, and they cant get other teachers to cover the classes from the teachers which are on strike as that would be underminding them.

I thought the day of strike action was Thursday, at least it is around here.

They are supposed to give you a minimum of 48hours notice so you should know soon if it effects you in any way....

Of course, they have every single day the children have off. In the same way, if a tree falls in a forest and you don't hear or see it - it doesn't fall.

presumably they also think that in the same way that they only work 9am-3pm, have a playtime morning and afternoon, and get to "enjoy" school meals everyday:thumbsup:
