Right, I just passed my English Language (please don't pick apart what I say and assess my use of language or get into a discussion regarding whether or not I should have, blahblahblahblah etc.etc.etc.) and I was thinking of getting my English teacher something because of it (I used to stay behind every Tuesday and she used to give up her time to help...) and so I was wondering what would a teacher appreciate... I was thinking of just getting her some chocolates, but anybody can go out and get some chocolates, I was thinking of MAKING something, but I'm not sure what, Thanks in advance....

Yeah... Can you guys be serious, lol?

Unless you have some special skills in making stuff, I cannot think what you could actually make.

How about getting her a patio plant - a nice lemon tree in a pot or similar.

I like that idea, what about brownies ,chocolate ones , do you think that's a good idea / :)

What about a Bonsai tree, she can keep that on her desk.
#16
If you're skilled at chocolate bownies - you cannot go wrong with them , plus a bonsai for her desk! The only trouble with that Nikki is that the bonsais almost always die!!

As a teacher, I like thinks that can go on or around my office/desk.
Hell even a nice letter or a simple sincere thankyou outside of class if you had come and sought me out specifically would make my day.

Alcohol.... a good bottle of wine. Female teachers at my school always get chocolate ... and look enviously at my end of year wine haul. Get her wine.

Gimmie a break, its late and im still marking and lesson planning here.. typos happen.
Even if it was in jest, ignorant comments like that really make me angry.

Perhaps you should get somebody to mark your work for you.(_;)

I bought one of my teachers a cross pen and had it engraved with 'thank you' on it. It's something he would use every day and also know that he really did make a difference to my life.

How about a pretty paperweight...the Caithness glass ones are very nice.
#25
a red biro - teachers love writing in red biro all over your work (well they did mine!)

srsly though a thank you card would be nice or budget allowing a nice pen to keep
#26
I'd go with a nice card and an orchid.
#27
definitely a card, maybe a hand made one or personalised, moonpig or whatever
#28
On ebay you can get some really nice personalised things. I've bought wine glasses, lighters (you can even have photos engraved on there!) some embroidered towels for my aunty- she loved them! Depending on the age of the teacher you could get something like that?

If she's a younger teacher I'd get her an engraved wine glass and a nice bottle of wine. The engraved pen also sounds nice as she can use it if she wants to.

Oooohhh just had an idea. If she's young and you go for the wine glass idea, you could get like a hamper and fill it with coloured shredded paper and put the wine glass and bottle in there and then wrap it in cellophane with a bow- like you would from a shop so it looks all fancy. Then you've partially made her something!

And for a nice card, you can get one off funky pigeon for half price, but the smallest ones are really small, I'd go for medium!!

I got my sons teacher a pandora charm for her bracelet. Does she have anything like that, that she collects?
This makes it personal, as she'd already been given countless pens and chocolates.
