TECH HELP NEEDED! My Dell Vostro 200 wont boot up with new wireless keyboard & mouse!

Bryan839Bryan839

Yesterday I installed my new wireless keyboard & mouse (Microsoft desktop 8000) & restarted. When I turned the pc back on, it just hangs on the dell bios screen, with the F2 & F12 options, and the keyboard doesnt do anything when you press these.

Plug in my old wired keyboard & it boots up! No keyboard or wireless adapter plugged in and the system will say keyboard failure.

So it doesn't boot up because it cant detect the wireless keyboard, but the wireless keyboard doesn't become active till windows is booting, is there a way to stop the bios from checking for a keyboard and allow the system to boot up?

Thanks guys.

also do you hae a PS2-USB converter?
My logitech set came with one, so its effectivly plugged in the PS2 socket, instead of usb might recognise it better

Check your BIOS to see if Bluetooth devices are enabled, if you can't do this try using the old keyboard first. Bluetooth devices are normally detected when Windows starts up and not before. Hve you paired it first using the button on the bottom of the keyboard?
