I need a judgement call from anyone whos in the know....

I've been asked by some one if I can create a highlights reel for Manchester Titans american football team for last seasons offence and defence.

Got all the material and chopped it up etc and just creating the file in Sony Vegas (an app I'm already familiar with as the interface is exactly the same as Sony Acid Pro, which i've used for years)

Where I'm having the problem however is creating a 3D logo, which I want to use on the into, it has to be 3D becuase I want to spin it along a central axis and for it to have depth as it rotates, now my question is what am I best off using, 3D Studio or Autodesk Maya? or anyone else have suggestiongs of how to do it?

you can now do this in photoshop cs4.

alternatively depending on the quality you want, its probably easier to do it in flash or premier rather than venturing into 3Ds MAX or Maya.

Thanks for the feedback, however I've already delved into the world of Maya, its something I can combine with my actual career.

Working on some rather good tutorials at the moment and my current projects is comming along quite nicely, I'm doing a model and animation of a concept vehicle (jet bike) I'm moving onto production animation next, trying to make a model walk realistically.

Heres where I'm upto so far :)
