run msconfig, boot tab. Delete the boot option you no longer require

would you need to remove the old partition that had the windows 7 in it if you have not done that already?

in the boot ini only this appears

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)partition(1)\windows
[operating systems]

first i get one boot screen (grub) which lets me choose ubuntu or vista boot loader, then if i choose vista boot loader i get another option to choose windows 7 (which obviously gives an error) or previous version of windows(xp)

i installed easy bcd and removed the vista boot manager but now ive lost my grub loader. im trying to fix that now
