My mate works for them. It is not too good to be true, if you understand how the process works they are actually making a fortune and people are receiving their goods.

Personally I wouldn't waste my money.

It's not a scam. I've actually won a copy of Metroid Prime for Wii and a Scrubs DVD from there. The only this is after buying some bids, paying postage, and selling the items on eBay, I only just made my money back...

The whole idea promotes gambling at considerable cost. For each bid placed it costs the bidder 50p and the lot item is only increased by 7p in value. You could waste literally hundreds of pounds and still not win an item. For example, a mobile phone selling retail for £100 can be had for around £21 - apparently a give-away. The reason the company can sell the phone at this price is that gambling bidders have spent a total of 2100/7 x 50p,= £150. On the surface it would appear that bargains may be had, if you are extremely lucky or a gambling genius, but the reality for the majority is an expensive sore head. Bids are purchased in tens of pounds and with bidding increments of only 7p I can assure you that £20 or £30 is gone in no time. After losing out on one lot, I have heard that Telebid will often encourage the bidder to try again by offering a few free bids or discounted bid packages. One to avoid I would have thought.

one day........one day you'll get that 42" LCD telly for 100 quid. (+ 6 months of accumulated bids amounting to 2 grand.)

I stupidly signed up for it thinking wow...this looks great and I have as much of a chance as the next person.

Then I read about the bidding, watched it for a while and realised that you can be lucky but you do spend an awful lot of money on the bids and hardly win anything.

I cancelled after I spent all my bids as they are making a huge amount of money out of suckers like me
