when people vote hot or cold does it vary how much it changes by from different users? If you have more rep and vote hot will the temp increase more than if you had less rep?

oh ok because i just voted my own deal hot and it went up like 6 or 7 degrees and im sure it never used to do that lol

I agree. Normally I wait to see how others vote and then vote myself after. I added a bit of heat too, looks like a decent deal.

thanks, thought for a second i was the only one who voted hot on their own deals, wouldnt have done it so soon if i realised it went up that much

No loads do.

In an old thread about the subject the majority came to the conclusion : You wouldn't post a deal if you didn't think it was hot. Which is exactly what you said. I don't vote on all mine, usually just combat cold votes. Having said that, I haven't posted any deals for a while.

I see no problem voting your own deals, for the same reason as you have already given.

As for voting power, the rep is a factor, but the biggest factor is how hot your own deals that you have posted reached.
