Tenerife in November?

We and my boyfriend were / are thinking of going to either Egypt or Tenerife in November. We already know Egypt will be hot but Tenerife seems to have rather varied weather.

Has anyone been to Tenerife in November / December, if so - what is the weather like and can you recommend any hotels?

Thanks

You cannot trust the canary island in the winter we have been 4 times and its a lottery twice it rained all week, once we had 3 days sun the rest cloud, Egypt on the other hand is hot hot hot went in Feb this year it was 90.

I've been to Tenerife a few times in the November and it had been lovely and hot! My parents go there every year for a month and they are real sun worshippers always comming back very tanned!

I've always stayed on the North side which they always advise can be a little bit more cloudy plus it is very quiet and there is an 60 - 90 minute transfer. The south side is the place to be if you fancy something a bit livelier!

I thought tenerife had pretty stable weather? not too different all the year round? must of been a dream

I went around January last year and the weather was OK - it wasn't baking hot so we got loads done, had a good explore etc. We had only one really bad day where it rained - even then it was still nice and warm!

The worst thing about the holiday was constantly being harassed on the beach by blokes selling sun glasses. Then going out for a meal at night and getting harassed by the same guys while you're trying to walk down the high street!

Went to Tenerife at the end of October and weather was hot all week, enough to get a sun tan, but not too hot to be unbearable. Have friends who used to go almost every year just before Christmas and they always seemed to come home tanned, so November should be ok for the sun.

Great.

We were looking at Egypt but I am terrified of needles and vaccinations are needed to go there. I assume vaccinations aren't needed for Tenerife?

couldnt agree more. been twice in october and three times in feb. rainfall on average 2 days per week, cloudy on 3 days and 2 days of sun.

november is gonna be a real lottery.

been to all 4 islands and tenerife would be bottom of my list. Way too commercial, full of chavs and hawkers.

Right, I think Tenerife could be the one. Found a nice hotel, Villa Mandi Golf Resort, which is in a quiet and secluded location but still only 2km from Vistasur beach and 2km from Los Cristianos. It is also near by the amazing looking Siam Waterpark.

It looks perfect. Plus it is only £450 each for a week half board!

Tenerife would be a great choice, been 12 times mainly in the winter months and never had bad weather once, yeah the odd cloudy day but never cold and never consistantly cloudy...

Its easy to avoid the chavs someone referred to earlier and Los Christianos is a great area to do that in. Indeed the Reveron Plaza is a great hotel - quite small and not full of kids, with great rooftop swimming pool where there is no need to go out and do the "sunbed run" , but depends what your looking for in a hotel

Try Gran Canaria
Still in the Canaries, but not as expensive.
Went to Maspolomas last June for £470 2 weeks All Inc in groovy little apartments, upstairs/downstairs house type things.
We were gonna do Tenerife at the time, but prices were daft.

£900 is expensive if you ask me

for that kind of money, we normally get a 3 bedroom villa for 2 with private swimming pool & flights. OK you have to buy food but nothing beats your own villa & pool, especially if you get wet days as then you have big TV, sky etc.

lanzarote is by far the best & least commercial island imho

£358 each for villa and flights on 4th november

car hire is very cheap (autoreisen about £90 for the week)

Trust me and csiman the weather is a lottery every time i have been its been the same, go egypt if you want guaranteed sun or if you ain't bothered about the sun then its up to you but it gets really boring sitting around a hotel when its raining/cloudy outside.
