hydrostatic head should be 1500mm minimum, it's the measurement of how waterproof the material is

Ok, thanks...that's a very decent priced tent too

I would say you should think about spending more if you want to use more than a few times. Vango make some very good tents which Yeomans and Millets tend to have very good deals on.

Just my opinion

Outwell make even better tents

That one is well priced there, and there's an extra 20% off until Sunday.

It's our first camping holiday so I didn't want to spend that much really in case we don't like it. But I realise that a bad tent could be the reason we have a bad holiday. :?

I would also advise getting a tent bigger than you need. your gonna need space for everything!!!!! I would look for a 6 or 8 man tent TBH we have a 5 man tent and it does the 3 of us (two adults and ankle muncher) but does still get cramped. Alternitivly have a looka t a cheepy 2 man tent to pop your stuff in????

That's a good point, although a good tent will hold its value, so if you don't like it (which you will!!) then you could sell it. Some of them you would just bin!!

I would also advise getting one with seperate sleeping areas, that one posted above looks like you just have all of your stuff and all of you in the one 'pod'

Yeomans tend to have a lot out on display, although they might be out of your price range you would get a good idea of the style you want.

Good luck, you will love it!!
