Tesco Anti-bacterial Soap 500ml, it makes no sense?

When in tesco's yesterday I noticed they were selling the
Tesco Antibacterial Soap REFILL 500ml for 70p.
This item has no pump attached and the idea is that you can take your pump from your old one and save some extra plastic and spring.
BUT NO tesco's are trying to be un-environmentally friendly by selling the same item with a pump for 15 pence cheaper at 55pence. I've checked online but this is no error in pricing.

Tesco's have gone mad, and I think it's tesco's dirty plan that they know the refill's are selling more highly and thus trying to get more pennies out of us without us noticing.
Be nice to get a post of this and other no sense pricing on the HUKD BLOG.,

I like to be more environementally friendly and people say this costs but in this circumstance it shouldn't cost

I don't see the issue here...you can chose which product you buy.

Your paying more to be green....

Just like paying more for free range than caged...

Some people just throw things in their basket without checking prices which Tesco are capitalising on....don't read to much into it.

I went in a short while aga and their 35cl half bottles of brandy worked out £1 cheaper to buy 2 than it would to buy the large 70cl bottle

.... remember, folks, ALWAYS look at how much the product costs per 100ml/100g etc. :)

The difference is free range is of better quality and higher nutritionally. The refill is cheaper for Tesco's to make yet they sell it at a higher price, this is just one example of Tesco's terrible pricing strategies. For example their 'better than half price offers' are technically only half price as they will put an extra 5-15 pence on the original price to make the original price appear more expensive. Another example is there was once a time when buying in bulk was cheaper, no this isn't really the case anymore, Tesco's know people will think like this and obvious expect people not to notice, as most want to get in and out of supermarkets.
Tesco's are the worse for this so just giving people who want to save money a heads up.

....and if a poster doesn't quote the amount of contents, ALWAYS question if the bottle was exactly half the size of the larger one.

I noticed this odd pricing a few weeks ago on this item, tescos notorious for doing this. Asda had a tv add last night qouting it would be at least 10% cheaper for your bill than anywhere else or they would refund the difference by voucher. Not sure how it works ??
