I need something quite expensive from Goldsmiths and I know tesco clubcard vouchers can be used with them...
I only have few points (500) - just started this thing... I don't do lots of shopping.. I'm single but I do all the grocery shopping with Tesco...but that's not enough to get all the points I need
Question: can I borrow points from friends? Can they give me points to add them on my account (let's say I will reward them with something else)?

Best bet by far is recycling old printer cartridges... u get 100 points per catridge... which works out as £4 at Goldsmiths...

So at the moment u have 500 points which is £20 @ Goldsmiths...
I have about 2800 points due on my next statement which works out £112... all thru shopping and ink!
banned#2
No, you can't
#3
look on ebay people are selling them
points cannot be transferred -
if your friends will give you them your laughing!!
#4
You can pay someone to swap there Tesco points for Goldsmiths vouchers... at a reduced rate... that happens on ebay quite a bit.

True... Spose it doesn't matter for tickets to Thorpe Park but may be an issue at Goldsmiths.

The only other way is if you purchased the amount you needed from somebody off Ebay who live quite near to where you are and ask them when they have converted them for you would they be prepared to come to the shop with you.I have seen this offered on Ebay quite a lot of times because you could have vouchers with 2 names on but obviously more than 2 and they would get suspicious.
#11
that's not good
I don't like ebay... I will try to find some used cartridges if I have any...
also I am going to recycle one phone

Well I'm a student and only spend £160 a month... However I collect all of my mates ink cartidges at uni... and then recycle them through Tesco... 100 points a cartridge... get about 8 a month... so 2400 points per quarter merely from cartridges. I was gonna buy a load of empty cartridges off of ebay real cheap and then recycle them for points. Essentially every cartrdge is worth £4 in deals.

Naw 1 account... no bonus points... just normal shopping and ink cartridges from friends and family.

If u have multiple Tesco accounts they can null and void all of them for no reason... happened to a guy in one of the newspapers... had saved £5000 over a load of cards... but they took it all off of him.

http://www.tesco.com/greenerliving/what_we_are_doing/green_clubcard_points/default.page
That's Tesco's page for it...

http://www.tesco.com/greenerliving/what_we_are_doing/recycling_waste/printer_table.page?
That's the companies list of cartridges they accept...

I emailed asking if there is a maximum amount of cartridges I can send and they said no (checked cos u can only recycle 2 mobile phones per year or something like that)... U can drop them off instore, or like me, just post them off. The envelope has a slip u fill out your details on btw.

Fair play... but be warned if u gather too many points and Tesco don't feel like honouring them, they have been known too and will void your accounts and accumulated points.

My 1 card will do...

Get all your friends and family to register with tesco through you recommending them and not only do you get 500 points but they do too! They need to spend a minimum of £50 online to meet the requirements. If your friends are already registered then get their other halfs to register through your recommendation and it still works! There is a link at the bottom of the tescos web site (it's one of the small prints at the bottom of the home page once you have signed in. Also to make it even more appealing google around for some codes for their shopping. You can get £5 off for your first shop. Also always check on here for the voucher codes. I myself am a Tesco delivery driver and I always ask everyone if they come on this site for codes! I call it good customer service! You can recommend me if you like for the best delivery driver as that too is on the site!!!
Also to add to things, when you shop inside the shop itself you usually get vouchers at the till to buy things that give you extra points. It is worth (most of the time) to buy these things
#26
so if i got my oh to sign up would we just have to have different email addresses?
#27
No it doesn't work that way. You can't recommend anyone from the same address as you but you can recommend someone from another address like your friends other half. I tried that last week and it doesn't work as we both received an email stating that we didn't qualify for the points because he was at the same address

I have a question about vouchers I've received through the post and how I get the deals - I've got vouchers such as 150 points when you buy pampers babydry nappies. If I don't want to buy this item is there a way to change this for deals? I'm new to all this clubcard stuff but I want to get a Merlin Annual Pass from the deals!
#29
I don't think you can really but if unsure I would ask at the customer service

Nope... they send you bonus points for things they think you will buy... so I'm guessing you have bought nappies from there in the past. You could sell on ebay.

Basically it works like this...
You get bonus points vouchers sent through the post with your quarterly statement... or you may get one at the till when paying like this...
http://www.islayblog.com/2007images/20071106-tesco-voucher.jpg
These are worthless... they have a cash value of £0.0000001. You have to buy whatever it says to get the points... When you have collected enough points you will be sent one of the below in the post...
http://www.palgrave-journals.com/dddmp/journal/v9/n2/images/4350078f3.jpg
You can then use these (when you have enough) to swap for something in Tesco deals worth 4 times the face value. Like a Thorpe park voucher (doesn't look like the one below)...

Have a look at their site...

Thank you donbreach, very informative.

Just another question - If when I have enough to get the Merlin Annual Pass (http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=393) can I only have one issued with my name as I am the clubcard holder or if I have enough points can I get 2 with one of them issued with a family members name?

Yes - you can get as many as you want as long as you have enough points.

in regards to referring friends for 500 points - apparently you can only do this once! i recommended 2 family members a while back and they had shoping delivered. all t&c's were correct (£50 spend, different adrress etc) but only got 1 set of 500 points. was told you can only recommend 1 person.
