Tesco Clubcard Extra Rewards Thingy

Hi

The other day I exchanged £100 of clubcard vouchers for double points, thinking how blooming great that was, and they will be posted to me. Today I discover to my horror that from the 7th of Dec they will be worth QUADRUPLE!!.

So I log into my Tesco account and try to cancel the order, and when I click on cancel the web page says cannot load etc etc.

I'm pretty sure this is deliberate sabotage by Tesco!!, because they know that alot of people willt try and cancel.

I called up customer service, and after 30 mins get through to two of the most horrible, arrogant, uneducated women in existance. First they said oh 'you can't cancel the order', then they said' oh you can if you call back on this date I will give you the customer service email address' to which I said 'so you can only give the customer service email address on certain days of the year?'

I then told her I was recording the phone call, and the wench became more helpful. Saying that she had emailed the appropriate team to action a cancellation. I took her name to Emma, when I asked for her surname she said she could give me a number, 2664!!, what a charming name.

I also emailed customer service through the website, who know's whether anyone will get back to me.

Not happy with the dirty tricks that Tesco have used 'hurry exchange before 6th decemeber to get double points', and neglecting to tell you after that it will be quadruple.

I had no idea they were going to be quad'ed up! Thanks for that nice little bit of info. I've only got a few quid, but 4x the value will get me a new coat or something... Shame about the dirty tricks though, but I'm not surprised :)

Hi,

Not sure but don't they give out next lot b4 Christmas and these are only available to double up till 5th Dec.

Correct me you guys if i'm wrong.

If I can't cancel the order, then I should contact trading standards. Surely I have a right to cancel my order, the website says I can as long as my vouchers haven't been dispatched yet, and they haven't.

The double points is for spending in-store and the quadruple points is for exchanging for vouchers (restaurants etc) is it not?
#5
You've confused me now! Shall I double up now to spend instore or not?
#6
Hmm this whole thing is a mystery to me, never used them before. I just had a look and apparently you have to claim unused vouchers by 6th Dec, but my vouchers have an expiry date of 2011

confused here too! Thought it was double points to spend in store and quadruple through deals brochure/website until 6th december - Then drops to triple ????????

The two schemes are completely different. It is double up for vouchers to spend in certain in-store departments and the other scheme is the one which you can get 4x the value in restaurant (and other) vouchers. From a date in December they will offer 3x for the latter.
#9
Sorry, a bit dim here...does this mean that we will get 4 times the value on the 7th December to spend in some departments of Tesco?
#10
Where have you got this information from that they will be quadrupled?
#11
Yipee - a smashing misinformation thread. Back to saving up for next year then!

So you just thought you would call up Tesco and give someone (who is doing their job) a hard time because you don't have the facts clear in your head?
#13
You have it wrong, at the minute you can get quadruple on restaurants and goldsmiths, from dec 7th the maximum will be triple. you will never get more than double up in tesco stores
#15
This is how I understand it too x

Can anyone confirm that?, if so I won't cancel, I want to put my vouchers towards a phone i've seen

i think your're getting mixed up, clubcard rewards are currently worth 4 x value with selected parters, this will be changing to 3 x value from 6th december.

Clubcard voucher exchange is worth double value and is for use in-store and on tesco direct in selected areas, which must be used by 5th december.
