Tesco Clubcard Points

Due to using my Tesco credit card for spending (it's a platinum so get more points or something) I have accrued 4127 points already and dont get my statement or vouchers until december.

Now, what I want to know (as I have always wasted them really just doing grocery shopping) is can you change them for deals and then save the deal tokens? The thing that really annoys me with the clubcard is you can't accrue your points.

Was thinking of changing them for Goldsmiths vouhers. The £40 would give me £160 worth of deal tokens, then buy something and sell it on ebay. Should be worth more than the £40 in tescos.

But, if I can save the tokens, I could wait 3 months, get another 40 quids worth, roughly, make that £160, £320 and I got myself a nice expensive watch or something!

Anyone any ideas on whether you can 'save them up'?

EDIT: Are there any better deals to be had?

Ooooh i know all about tesco clubcard points :)

If you look online you can see all the deals, there is tons and tons!

Whatever you do DONT spend them on your shopping! I kept doing that, but then looked on ebay, i had £14 of vouchers, put them on there, got £28 in my hand - was pleased because i didnt realise about converting them, but im keeping my vouchers from now on!!!!

There brill, they have a 2 year expiry on them, so in reply to your main question yes you can save and save them up!!!

With these vouchers, i think youve got the dates wrong, unless yours is different, the next vouchers get released in november, im taking the family out for a meal, and the rest is going towards either roadside recovery or vouchers for my local garage for when its mot time :)

Hope that helps :)

I have that stupid Platinum Tesco Credit Card. Not for long. They charged me £12.00 for going over my poxy £1,700 limit last month by one day. I spend around £5,000 on my credit cards per month and always pay them off in full. I only used that the most because of the Clubcard points but now I'm going back to my Smile Credit Card that has a £5,000 limit. I have over £100 in points (£400 in deals)
Rant over :)

You can sell your points on ebay, they go for about 2-3 times the face value. The buyer will then tell you what they want them converting to, you convert them and send the deals to the buyer. I don't think MFI deals are transferable but I THINK all the others are.

Glad someone knows all about clubcard points!

So your saying I can keep my vouchers safe in a drawer for up to 2 years and then cash them all in for deals?

I do loads of ordering for work and they ask me to use my credit card. I can't remember the figures on how many points I get, but think it maybe 1 point per £2 spend, or platinum maybe 3 points per £2 spend, dunno.

If I can save them up thats excellent. I did have a look through, a lot of the deals limit the number of vouchers you can use on one transaction, was going to use them for MFI, but you can only use £150 of deal tokens per £250 spent.

With Goldsmiths the notes say 'you can use as many vouchers as you like'.

I didnt even know about using my credit card in tescos, get 3 points per pound spent for using it in there for petrol or shopping. So the total should go up even more.

Could have about 800 quids worth in deal tokens by the end of the year. Or £200 in shopping. Makes sense to use the deals, though seems to be very limited as to what you can use.

Your like me then!

Apart from the fact I been using my Egg Money card more for the cashback, but got the top cashback on that one now.

Any idea what the actual values are per pound spent on the platinum card?

I run a very thirsty golf R32, so now I know about using it for petrol instead of using my swtich card liek I have been doing (doh!) my points should go through the roof!

Theres a few which arent steve, when i sold mine a lady wanted some macdonald hotel vouchers, but they would have been in my name so she picked something else.

I made double the face value of the vouchers, but there definatly worth holding on too, as has been mentioned there worth 4x there value of deals.

Even out here, which isnt london lol, theres still quite alot they can be used for.

Not that the above people need it, but anyone who has these vouchers and are thinking about selling them on ebay, stop and look at this first!
Its the catoluge of deals available :)

ok right here goes,
For using your platinum card in store you recieve 2 or 1 and half points for every pound you spend (which makes you use it in store)
Altho using out with the store only gives you half points.

Yes you can change them for deals but you have to phone up the deals section, what to do is call the callcentre for tesco and and ask for the number for Deals think there open at the moment: 0800 59 16 88, im sure you can save the deals tokens.

If you use your platinum card instead of your clubcard then obviously you cant accrue points on your clubcard but can accrue them on your platinum but you are getting double in store  You can accrue points on your clubcard for as long as you want, i had a lady on the system with over £80 of points (8000 points)

I used to work for the tesco call centre in dundee but im geting a wee bit cold on the topic as i havent worked there for about 9 months now.

best thing to do is phone that number and speak to an adviser who will give you the number for deals, they will guide you in the right direction.

I have used my card with my clubcard until a girl told me on the checkout that it actually is my clubcard?

So what your saying is, I don't have to have the vouchers every 3 months? And I can accrue them on the card? If so, thats even better.

Oooooh miss miss can i be the tesco clubcard vouchers expert!

Yes, next time some vouchers arrive for you take a look, they have an expiy date on them - which is 2 years.

Vouchers are most definalty best spent on deals, above i posted the link to all the deals available, theres resturants, hotels, days out, theme parks, car stuff, air miles, theres so many.

Dont spend your vouchers on shopping, if you want to do that your better putting them on ebay, MOST of the time they go for at least double there face value.

E.g, if you have £200 face vaule of vouchers, youll PROBABLY get £400 on ebay, but in deals there worth £800 :)

you can accrue them for as long as you want yes !
phone up clubcar and ask fior a total on your platinum visa card and a total on your clubcard
also ask where the point are building up on.

Your better off using your platinum in store than using a normal card as you get more points for every pound, i had customers throw there normal card (clubcard) away as its now useless.

If you dont use them you wont lose them !
#12
I cannot find anything in the deals that I want so mine are going on ebay.
Anyway, I'm going back to Smile for a measly 0.05% (I think it is) cashback.
#13
Really?
Bcos i thougt if you didnt use them by the time they "expired" theyd be void afterwards.
Mine have never got that far anyway as always been used!
#14
No you never lose your vouchers, i personally have a clubcard and my address has been put in error twice now with them meaning ive never had my bloomin vouchers sent to me (think its where i live as its not recognised)
my points are just adding up and adding up.
When they send you the points vouchers you do have 2 years to use them but if you dont use them they will just keep adding up.
Some people go into the xmas club where all there vouchers are stored up until november and they release them then which makes buying stuff in december really easy.
#15
Josh, yes you can be the expert!

This is a fast growing topic, thought it would get lost in the depths!

I been through all the deals and the only things I can find are Goldsmiths (which allow multiple tokens and as many as you like) and Airmiles.

Think I'd go for the Goldsmiths for a nice watch, but ebay could be a contender.
#16
Oooooh thats really good to know :)
i should really have figured that out, as when you use your voucher but dont spend all thats on it (if you get what i mean???)
the remaining balance gets put back on your card.

Personally i love tescos for this, as tescos is the closest supermarket to me anyway, but its also for petrol.
I have a sainsuburys too, but does there nectar card work in the same way as ive never looked into that, saying that dont really want to shop there, but still all worth knowing :)

Id love some goldsmith vouchers :)
Thing i like about flogging them on ebay is, its money in your hand that you can spend ANYWHERE not just where tesocs stipulate :)

Yer I know what you mean, but like you say, if you have £200, you will maybe get £400. That £200 will buy an £800 watch. That should sell for about £600.

I've always wanted a real nice expensive watch though, but spending that amoutn on one just makes no sense to me. So this way I outlay no cash but get the watch. Probably would end up putting it on ebay though instead of physically wearing it!

Orrrr, could sneakily buy an expensive engagement ring ready for the future out of clubcard vouchers, now that would be the ultimate in moneysaving! :-D
#19
:O thats so cheeky, but i like it :)

Well, out of my lot this time its a meal and money towards my mot :)
#20
i know nothing about sainsburys but a bit about tesco joshanna :p
#21
Same here then :)
Ah well, never really got to sainsburys anyway....

Ooooh and if people arent aware, theres other ways to get more points, with there partners :)
My power is sent by powergen and i get points from them put on :)

Well get your nice watch :)
The way i see it is, you HAVE to go shopping etc anyway, so the points are for nothing really, so spend it on what you like, you havent really paid anything for them :)
Im happy to take the family out for nothing, and save a few bob on my mot, i think thats brill :)
*now loyal tescos shopper*

joshanna there is

Powergen
onlin shopping at tesco.com
tesco insurance (pet,car,house etc)
tesco mobile
tesco broadband
tesco home phone
credit card
clubcard
avis, marriot hotels, national tyres, ink cartridges...loads to get points from

What i found really good which i think everyone should do is the Tesco clubs,
like:
food club: learn new meals recipes etc food vouchers 20p off etc
wine club: learn what new bottles are coming out, which ones are good etc
baby and toddler club: from when your child is boren tesco will send out a card every year up to i think the age of 5, you also get loads of money off coupons.
healthy living club: learn what foods are good for you etc
clicky>http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard/clubs/

you used to get MFI points but they had problems putting the points onto peoples card so they got punted lol
#24
i sold some on Ebay and got a snotty letter from Tesco advising me not to do this as i may get negative feedback. I hadn't converted the vouchers for the buyer, so if you do this first you should avoid the Tesco letter.

However yesterday I bought a sofabed and sofachair from MFI. They matched the online sale price and accepted payment fully in £570 Tesco vouchers and £3.40 cash. This was in Edinburgh and they were quite happy to do this. However the salesperson did say MFI are trying to withdraw from the scheme asap. They are losing a lot of money throughTesco vouchers. :)

Oooooh pretty avator :) Least people wont think im a boy now i hope!

Oh and thanks for whoever gave me rep for my clubcard pointers, tis much appreciated :)
#27
So you did, ah well.
#28
Still good to know anyway :)
Good ol tescos :)
#29
Yep they are good,

That baby and toddler club is excellent, plus you get the sticker for parking in the toddler bays at all the tesco car parks, we had loads of people getting fined because they never had a sticker on there car window but parked in the bays all the saem.

You must have a sticker on your window in some car parks
#30
Im in that group too, but dont get anything from it.
I lost my car sticker, but i still park there, as i have a child seat.
Im fed up of everytime i go to tescos though, i TRY and park in the mother and baby spot someone without a child parks there, the amount of times ive had to hold my tongue. They should check car parks better as i find it annoying.
#31
Some car parks have wardens that impose fines on poeple without stickers.

I never park in these bays as there are plenty of them elswhere in the car park, its just lazy sods that park in them.

Phone Tesco customer services and they will send out a new one for you, dont think clubcard can do it.

How old are your children if yo dont mind me asking joshanna?
#32
Ive only got 1 :giggle: and hes just turned 2.
Im only 21, more arent on the cards for years if ever :giggle:

And yes, it REALLY annoys me when they park in those spots, i shook my head at someone who did the other day as they were infront of me, and they had no kids, idiots.

And i sold some on ebay sadly :-(
But ill keep them from now on :)
#37
I just can't believe that I can convert 42 quid into £170! I fear I may become one of those loyalty card obsessed freaks now!
#38

Tescos have won me over forever now :giggle:

You have the symptoms of a loyalty freak :-D

We could do a screenshot post showing our balances! That would be quite exciting

I will be going tonight (can't stand shopping in the day) so 50 quids worth of shopping on the credt card and 60 litres of fuel in the car. More points!!!

I'm not even thinking of the money I'm spending now!
#40
:giggle: i would go shopping today, and put petrol in, but im bloody waiting in for a package from ebay! Grrrrr!

Ive got 998 points which is quite annoying as ive got to get those extra 2 on to get a tenner back in deal vouchers LOL!
