Tesco kept sending me click and collect emails and txt's even after I collected my item. there now saying if I don't pick it up on the 28th, yesterday, they will refund me. hmm. will this happen or is this just a glitch?

the reason im asking is I want to return the item, and today is the last day of the 14 days return period. but obviously if im gonna get a refund anyway ill hang onto it ;) .

Happened to me several times. Just reply to email to say item has been picked up and it should stop the emails from coming. The click and collect collection sometimes doesn't show up on their system for some reason.

Doubt you will get 2 toys or a refund, happened to me, they just keep bugging you.

Just tell them you have collected it. I believe that is what most people would do!!!! Its not right to take advantage for someones mistake. Some poor newbie may get in trouble for this, lose his/her job etc.

If after you have told them, they still refund you then your conscience is clean.

Happily there are people like me and you honest, high morals and understanding - but like in every walk of life there are good and bad

People take advantage of mistakes on this website all of the time.

They've probably messed up with the order.
Happened to me and I ended up with extra toys, tablet and games.
theft pretty much imo

naturally only you can decide if you can justify it to yourself cos they are 'the big man' and you 'stuck it to them'

You wudda thought the way some pontificate on here about other matters they would have perhaps had more moral fibre. Says it all.

I'm not too fussed tbh; people take advantage of glitches and misprices all the time.

Same thing.
Yes, but you don't need to encourage it, or even sit on the fence.

at the moment the last email said if I didn't pick it up by the 28th of December they would refund me. so I was going to hang onto the one I have picked up just to see what happens. I didn't want to go in there today to get a refund and potentially muck up the glitch.

i don't particularly want 2 of these, as they are not that good.

I'm not sitting on the fence either; It's not for me to tell some one what to do, we're all grownups here.
If some one gets and extra item they can choose what they want to do with it, just like they can choose wheather or not they want to exploit a misprice or a glitch.

Same thing IMO.

You don't have to do anything, you dont have to contact them to tell them, it just stops.

How can you return something you don't have? Im confused ;);)

At least you didn't have spend a week chasing up the delivery yourself.

and the purpose of your link?

Please don't waste your effort trying to give me and educated response - clearly your morals fall well below my standards. Yes it's a deal site and I will give praise when a deal is a deal but from what you've already stated if you had purchased a dozen mince pies on special offer at Morrisons yesterday you would now try to return them because they are cheaper now!

And I reiterate my point - the cost of administration of your refunds and restocking the shelves just increases the prices for everyone else. Yes you get lower prices but eventually the prices increases to cover losses so the theoretical price is artificialy inflated because of people like you. simples

I wanted an item for cheaper, no issue with that; maybe they should give a warning that an item is going on sale next time?

Simple.

This Tesco post was due to a glitch; the mince pie post was due to a glitch. Both can and have been exploited.

Same thing to me.

..or, they still fire him/her and block your account for fraudulent activities.
Works both ways.. :P

if it was me I would return the item as otherwise it would be blatant theft. if they did not refund you end up with something you don't want.

Agreed ... the first thing you should do is report the mistake to the company in question.

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 say you have a right to keep goods delivered to you that you didn’t ask for. These are known as unsolicited goods. But if goods are sent to you by mistake, you need to contact whoever sent them to let them know and ask them to collect the goods. You might get goods sent by mistake if they are meant for someone else or you’ve been sent duplicate or extra items on top of what you ordered.

If you receive goods you have not ordered and which haven’t been sent by mistake, you can treat the goods as an unconditional gift and you can do what you want with them.

Do you have to return unsolicited goods?

You have no obligation to return unsolicited goods to the trader or allow the trader to collect the goods. However, it would be reasonable for you to contact the trader to explain what has happened and give them a chance to collect the goods from you.

It wasn't a soap box by any chance, as you could sell it to some members in this thread if you don't need it....

You won't receive refund until actual item is sent back after x amount of days... They did this with me too, i had 3orders to pick up but the lady was too lazy to scan all 3, so I received email reminder, then final reminder to pick up the two that hadn't been scanned.... But no refund lol :)

That really, if its anything like where i work then the store wont have scanned the item as being collected meaning you will get the automatic "collect your order" emails, as any items uncollected would be sent back for a refund, but as the items been collected there is nothing to send back so you wont receive an automatic refund.

Just wait and see what happens. They probably won't refund you and it's just a glitch. If they do refund you, then give them a ring and let them know, they will probably let you keep the refund and you will have a clear conscience. As for anyone getting in trouble, that is less likely, I mean, they did just make a few minor mistakes with their profit margin so I doubt this will make waves.
