Tesco double the difference - refunds

Right I don't know if anybody has mentioned this before but here goes..

Shopping in tesco today (Sunday) and supposingly they were having a HUGE problem with products not being discounted when they should be. Bought some face washes at 2 for £5, both £5 each anyway.

When getting a refund they doubled the difference of what I've been overcharged, making them basically pay me to go out with them! So it makes it worth it to check you got the discounts you were ment to!

They don't do double the difference at Stockport, unfortunately. They were having problems with nappies, supposed to be £5.00 per pack, I was charged £9.99 for each of the two I bought, only got the difference back, not double.... bad times!!

Their Terms and Conditions state that they will give Double the Difference for any price overcharge. Should be on the sign above the Customer Services.

I would go back and complain.

That happened to me too ;)

I used the self-checkout, noticed and then went to customer services. Again there was a huge queue but I waited and they gave me double whatever the amount I was overcharged on.

Seems worth it if you notice something has been scanned wrong not to tell the cashier and just go to customer services. Might be a longer wait but it saves even more money!

I agree, Stockport should have the same policy! Especially if it's the Portwood Tesco, it's huge!!

I'd complain and they might give you double the difference on the money refunded! - Free nappies!!

You don't actually have to complain on the same day but it is much easier as the price would not have changed and sometime they like to make out you are lieing to them.

Always amazed by how many people do not check their receipts. I shop weekly but approx 1:4 shopping trips, I have been overcharged....

I did check the signage near customer services, but there is no mention of the double the difference stuff! I have also checked before, when I have seen mention about it on here, but unless I am being a bit blind, Stockport defo do not do it! My mum has been overcharged too in the past there and they just refund the difference.

I had a row with a lady about 2 weeks ago in Tesco begin the customer service desk.

My little boy wanted a Duplo Cars toy which was advertised as £5. Went through the checkout at £13.97. He only had a £5 note from his pocket money so Dad paid the difference for him.

Upon leaving I thought I had seen it for £5 around the shop. Cut a long story short, got double the difference back so Jack for his toy for free and £3 back.

Gotta love Tesco. :))

I heave heard that branch managers have some leeway about which promos they carry - so it could be your store has managed to opt out for some reason.
