Tesco introducing new products across UK

Tesco next week will be either introducing new products to store or reinstating products local to your store as part of their drive in order to match rising competition from the likes of lidls and Aldi. Most of the new lines will be Tescos own brand (inc value) but maybe removing the more expensive version of that product. (e.g walkers crisps replaced by tescos own (please note that will not be happening!)) Just a little heads up for those folks to watch carefully to products slowly creeping up on prices and then notice that tescos own product at a lower price to get you to buy theirs.

Brill, I noticed some more 'Value' range in the smaller Pembury Tesco this week, the snacks/crisps section.

I've sure been shopping at Lidl more lately so it's about time they did more to win us cheapskates back.

my store ( about 70k sq ft) is introducing approx 309 new or formerly removed products but imo it's quite a clear indication that Tesco are stepping up the game with lidl and Aldi but its about time to my bills are going up all the time and shopping everytime is getting smaller!

Yuk! We shop at Tescos, but I can't stand their value range. Bread can be used to sand wood, beans literally swim in sauce, and biscuits, well, even the pigeons wont eat them!

Got to agree with all that (except I haven't shopped at Tesco for years). I'm sticking with the foreign supermarkets and the local market for my veg.

fresh stuff at Tesco is rubbish - i've started shopping at a local farm shop and it doesn't work out to be too much more expensive but it lasts so much longer - so i'm saving £ in the long run.

Also, i bought some prawns from Tesco the other week and they were vile so i fed them to my cat and even she turned her nose up at them (and she eats mice, birds and wasps!)

Have noticed over last couple of years Tesco's have stopped stocking brand named goods and promote their own label goods. e.g. Birds eye frozen peas, Heinz weightwatchers beans (small Tins) Maxwell House cafe Latte.

Sometimes value/cheapo lines are used to increase prices without you realising.......for example cheapo beans 18p heinz 36p..........12 p cheaper.............then behind your back the cheapo go up to 20p and to maintain the difference heinz go up to 38p.............you were buying the cheapo a few times then you realise they are not a patch on heinz..........you forgot that heinz were 36p so you dont realise they have gone up in price............this works especialy well on high price washing powders..........this is a fact and has been reported on before.........its all smoke and mirrors......................

And Aldi do that super 6 thing on veg, this month its...

* Peppers (3pack)
* White Seedless Grapes
* Honeydew Melons
* Plums
* British New Potatoes
* Aranca Vine Tomatoes

At 69p each. Better than the big supermarkets who run their promotion for a couple of days just to drum up interest.
