Having read a thread a minute ago regarding Dark knight and being a 12a it got me thinking about my hatred for the 12a certificate.
Obviously companies want to be able to attract the biggest number of consumers to the cinema and so the 12a makes a lot of sense to them, previosuly the 12 certificate meant that if they made a a film a 15 then they would only lose 3 years of customers, now if they make a film a 15 they lose out on the full 15 years of possible consumers (in theory).
What annoys me is films like.. Vantage point! That film just made me angry that they had obviously made a consious effort to cut blood and such from the film in order to squeeze it into the 12a certificate. In a way i couldnt stop thinking about the lack of blood and it really took away from the experience.
Just wondering what other people think?
