The Best Ever Sandwich Toppings

Prissymiss gave me a great idea with her best toastie fillings.

When I wake up in the morning I haven't the imagination to create some delicious mouth watering sandwich and end up with cheese and pickle, jam, ham etc.

After reading the fillings you could put in a toastie, can you awaken my tastebuds and let me know your favourite sandwich, including what bread/roll you use. I will make what i consider to be the top 5 and whoever the winner is, will donate money to that persons favourite charity. I will try and put the pictures of the top 5 on this thread.

(After bagging 2 JCB's on Tuesday for £6, I have a few pennies rolling around that would be useful to somebody else)

So get creating!

Mine is basic but nice, chicken with garlic butter and cheese. Makes it lovely and creamy

I can't eat a sandwich without a topping of bread in some shape or form.

i used to enjoy a roll that was smoked turkey, homemade coleslaw, cranberry sauce, pepperjack cheese and monterey jack cheese. it was beyond nice and made by a delicatessen near where i used to work. the meat and cheese was very high quality and the coleslaw and cranberry were homemade.

ham, cheese spread and marmite, but it only works if you love marmite cos you either love it or hate it
#5
White bread (Morrisons farmhouse, uncut), Heinz salad cream(no butter), roast beef, iceberg lettuce, beef tomato (sliced), cucumber and black pepper. Oh, and an ice cold beer to wash it down:)
#6
ham cheese and Encona pepper sauce is a fave of mine too

Fried egg and strawberry jam. Bit of a lister special there but actually tastes pretty damn good. I challenge you to find a photo though

Really though, if its between two slices of bread, i'll munch it.

OK, thank you kindly for conjuring up some tasty delights for me, some odd ones in there fried egg & strawberry jam neilc, not for me that one, perhaps if I was female and pregnant with some twisted craving. but hey if thats what floats your boat, you go for it!

I could only pick four to go through the finale, so in no particular order, the first sandwich to make it through to the taste test is (wait 30 seconds)

shanecr, with smoked turkey, coleslaw (cannot do homemade though), cranberry sauce, pepperjack & monterey jack cheese (I hope these cheeses are real and I'm not being set-up!):)

Traindriver - salad cream, roast beef, iceburg lettuce, beef tomato, cucumber & pepper

Mrgrumpyman - wholemeal roll, salad cream (no butter), slices of home cooked chicken breast with thinly cut red pepper slices.

Maddness007 - ham, cheese spread with marmite (I LOVE IT!)

I will get trying these next week, and post the results up taking into account looks, taste, comments from colleagues, difficulty in preparing.

Good Luck

Sounds like some sort of M&S advert......sorry:oops:

It would only be like a M&S advert if you had to make it in your undies.
