Hello

I thought I would post some of the current best trade-in prices im getting and where you can actually MAKE money !

Basically getting Gamestation or blockbuster to price match CEX using a printout from the CEX website will nearly always get you the best trade-in price on anything, they will beat CEX's prices plus a pound for each game. Not all Gamestations will do this, you need to have a CEX within 5 miles (I might have made that up) I use the one in Manchester Arndale. Blockbuster games also claim to beat any trade-in price, they have leaflets instore , you can printout the Cex prices then try and explain to the Blockbuster staff that Gamestation will beat those prices by a pound so they should be beating them by £2.00, Ive managed to do this but its not easy, it's like talking to a swamp. Anyway, post your own....

Starting below..

Using GameChecker (http://www.gamechecker.co.uk) you can compare and get the best trade in or cash prices for your games.

Good idea mate
rep added
#3
agreed good idea...... on another note why does that CEX in the arndale always have that unwashed student/musty smell?
#4
Not a bad idea for those who have a CEX nearby
#5
its worthy add on Hmv trade in price on this thread. For example you can buy 2 copies of GTA (preowned) at blockbusters for £18 which will = £36 at HMV(store credit)

I wouldnt know Ive never been in there ! Ive seen the prices they sell their second hand stuff at, CEX and Gamestation are going to put each other under at this rate
#7
I like the idea, insomaniac, but it's worth noting that the prices CEX (and others) give will change daily... are you going to check every day and update the list as necessary?

I think it'll be a job managing the list so it is accurate, and so people don't get stung trying to make a quick buck.... The prices could easily change while you are awaiting your order from Play, for example...
#8
True but they dont change all that often and with the sort of prices theyre offering its unlikely they will drop to below the price you paid anytime soon. Also, its really only that good if your going to buy a console or something because the second hand prices of games etc is a rip off anyway in Gamestation, I tend to do this quick swapping until I have enough for a console then use my credit notes.

Ill update it when im not feeling lazy !

I might seem a bit thick here but

why would you buy a game for £20 and they trade it in for £31

Buy- Gamestation - £19.99
Trade-in - Gamestation - £31.00
#10
You are paying £20.00 and getting £31.00 pounds back for it after youve played it and take it back to trade in........

He means, why would Gamestation pay you £31 to trade in something, you've just bought from them for £20, lol!

It's because it's only on offer for this week at £19.99, and then it'll go back up. But they haven't reduced the price on their second-hand games... so, if you went in today, you'd see Fable 2 for £19.99 new or £34.99 second-hand...

Apparantly they have reduced the price of the trade-in they'd give you, to about £14, but if you get them to price match CEX, they should still do it, seen as the price they sell it for second hand, is more than thte £31 they'd price match to.

I would try and see two different members of staff, though, or go to a different Gamestations, as no doubt they wouldn't entertain the idea if you walked in, bought it, and then said you wanted to trade-in with a price match....

great idea - i also think its worth implementing this idea when people put up deals that are hot and where there is some sort of 'gaming arbitrage' available where you can make money once your done with the game!

i started this now by chipping into some deals which fall under this category.. would be cool to get this going..

Nice One.

The JFK.

I'd imagine that you could get a decent trade in price for fallout 3, which can be bought for £20 from gamestation today.
#15
Btw my local gamestation wont pricematch CEX if the trade in is higher than for what they are selling the game for, they will only pricematch what they say selling the game for
#16
This is pretty god if you have a hard think about it
If its posibble you can go to a certain gamestation shop buy let say 5 Fable 2 which would cost you around 100 quid. Then go to another gamestation shop and exchange that for a total of 155 quid. Then come back and use that voucher to buy some more fable 2 games, almost 8 in total.Go to cex and exchange them for 8x25 pounds(which they are giving out at the moment)and make a hundred pounds profit.
#17
I mean thay are giving 25 cash at the moment and 30 quid in exchange. Also if you want vouchers from cex you could get 240 quid which is more then enough for a n95 8 gig on orange or 3,the ones in mint condition

Can I sell multiples of the same item?
We will happily buy multiples of any item up to a maximum of 9 units. To sell more than 9 units of one item, please contact us via email.
Prices displayed on our website are offered on the basis that you are selling in one of each item; if you wish to sell multiple copies your order may be classed as a bulk buy, and as such a reduced price may be applied.
Please note that prices quoted are subject to change without notice.

If you sell up to nine copies of the same game at once you get the price from the internet,I know that for fact because I sold yesterday 9 copies of little big planet in derby.
#20
My local Gamestation will not take more than one copy of a game at once, I had about 200 ps2 games, there was a double up of Viewtiful Joe in there (worth about £4.00) and the way they were going on youd think Id pulled my pants down and **** on the counter !
#21
it all depends on what kind of person you run into.In my local Nottingham CEX store most of the staff knows me so they are really friendly and when you need a favour they will try their best to help
#22
I find that most gamestations will only pricematch if it is below their price they are selling the game for.. Sorry if this has already been mentioned!

Lol! You mentioned it earlier, hehe!

Should be OK with most of the games highlighted, as they still sell for more second-hand - It's only the New ones that are on offer (for a limited time)... the second-hand prices for those games haven't been dropped too.
#24
do gamestation offer cash or is it just an exchange
#25
They will buy things but I wouldnt describe it as giving cash, more like loose change.
