I think charlie got that last year in his secrete santa.
I thought it was a fab book. some of the things are definatly for older kids but its full of usfull things like how to tie knots and how to build tree houses.

I found the rocket idea aprticularly entertaining

If he's wanted it for a while he'll be thrilled to have it. It may sit on the bookshelf for another year but think how made up he'll be just to get it

he loves reading, he is very good at reading, and saw this at my friends house and has gone about it ever since, so was a little worried about bomb making - lol

To be honest I think its a good idea, he will understand some of it, and as he grows he will understand the rest. Some things make sense to some 6 year olds, that some 8 year olds wouldn't understand if that makes sense.. He will grow into it. Or like I said sell it to meeeee! Even a 32 year old child like me might not get some parts of it but what I understand should be fun.

I've got it. There's lots of super-useful stuff in it, and there's loads of grown-up-boy stuff in it that's fun, but I found it to be let down by the terribly bland and factual presentation. It's just not worded in an exciting or interesting way at all. All very drab and factual. Sort-of like how it'd be written if it was written by a teacher, only by an old but kindly disciplinarian, rather than the new teacher who just wants to be friends with all the kids. 'Tis well recommended, though.
