hopefully its a one off
all eyes on us again - especially with champions league matches looming
but we dont hear what goes on in other european countries week after week
jeez italian league is rife with trouble
both teams will be dealt punishment -but really wasnt clubs fault -
it was organised and the police couldnt stop it
#3
Its an absolute disgrace!!!!! The FA should come down hard on both teams and make an example to them!

The problem is we just try brush it under the carpet with a small warning and fine!!! Go in hard on these people and the clubs so everyone else knows the consequences of doing such things!

Almost every local derby up and down the country will have a large troublesome element, you just have to look at police footage of rival fans being barely kept apart by a huge police presence at fixtures such as Birmingham/Villa, or Spurs/Arsenal. People are used to the police/stewards keeping a lid on it all for them - and in this case clearly didn't manage to get a grip.

Also, the timing of this fixture couldn't of been worse either, a warm summer night with plenty of time to get juiced, add in dubious current topic Milwall 'songs' throughout the match, a home team equalizer 4 minutes from time, and people forgetting that this is one of the most bitter derbys in the UK.

Would of been much safer as an afternoon kickoff much later in the year, preferably on a rainy night. Turns out hooligans aren't too disimilar to traffic wardens. Both pigvomit.

Anyway, there's hooligans and there's football fans - no such thing as a football hooligan.

Only COA is to ban any future away fans in the future between the two clubs. Even that won't stop the problems outside the ground(s)/tube station(s).

Comparing hooligans to traffic wardens - you should have opened with this so people could immediately disregard everything else you said.

Also, there are other courses of action - points deductions would be my preference. A nice 12 points off both teams so that they ultimately get hit with a 6 point loss after the inevitable reduction on appeal.

hideous for the game.

What winds me up is on "5 Live" they have a phone in this morning entitled something along the lines of "Football Violence - is it back?". That doesnt help calm things down. The incident should be investigated by the police, FA and the individual clubs and all those involved in this should be sought out and charged and also given a LIFETIME ban from ANY sporting event in the UK. That might seem a stupid thing to do but they need to stamp it out.

This hasnt happened for a LONG time. In my opinion we are a relatively well behaved footballing country compared to how we used to be. Now we have a big number of idiots who have allowed us to look like mindless animals to the rest of the world. They are a disgusting bunch of individuals. Why there were also bottles in the crowd is beyond me. Whilst they can only partially prepare for this scenario someone hasnt done their job properly.

shocking to see it, i feel sorry for the actual football fans who got stuck at the game

Its a lot better than before, I have always felt safe going to football games

Its usually the same clubs that are involved over and over again

A little part of me would like to see the press really go overboard on this (which they are) and maybe a few more events like this as it will maybe make those 'spectator' types you get in grounds up and down the country who tell you to sit down when you stand and sing in support of your team - i call them spectators as they are not 'supporters'.

Liverpool Fans The Worst In Europe Says Uefa

A damning Uefa report branding Liverpool fans the worst in Europe is to be presented to sports minister Richard Caborn.European football's governing body says there have been more incidents involving Reds supporters than any others.

Trouble flares in Athens

The report is based on the findings of undercover police agents over the last four years.

It paints a damning picture of Liverpool fans' behaviour at last month's Champions League final in Athens, which Milan won 2-1.

There were violent scenes outside the stadium and inside after many fans gained access with forged tickets - and in some cases no tickets at all.

Uefa spokesman William Gaillard said: "The incidents involving Liverpool fans have been well known to us before the trouble at the Champions League final.

"That was just the latest example. What other set of fans steal tickets from their fellow supporters or out of the hands of children?

"We know what happened in Athens, and Liverpool fans were the cause of most of the trouble there."

He went on:"There have been 25 incidents involving Liverpool fans away from home since 2003 and these are in the report - most teams' supporters do not cause any trouble at all."

Gaillard added: "You must ask yourself why at the same match, with the same conditions, there was no trouble with the Milan fans - only the Liverpool fans."

Uefa were trying to shift the blame heavily for this one because they ****ed up and gave the biggest game in club football to a non football stadium, some liverpool fans were acting like idiots trying to get in the stadium without tickets but if the stadium was equipped they wouldn't have been allowed in

The morning before that game, UEFA spokesman Gillard was full of praise for liverpool fans, saying that they never cause any problems...etc, I have already linked the story in another thread (which team would you support)

liverpool fans have also been praised by police in Barcelona and Juventus

BTW, your comment seems a bit sinister, I hope that you aren't talking about 89!!!

Do you have reading difficulties?

What happened in 89 BTW? Surely the events of 85 are not insignificant in your mind?

so you chose to ignore the three articles i posted in the other thread, and instead came back here to spout rubbish about things that you don't know much about

FFS, you seem to have a soft spot for Millwall, and enjoy watching movies about football holigans, an ex holigan yourself I assume

Racist chants from both sets of fans as well!

Hope the FA go down hard on these two horrible clubs, I doubt that they will though

You will find I don't ignore anything. What is it exactly you think I've ignored?

Should I point out you've ignored what was said in the post you've replied - and it wasn't me that spouted it - I was merely highlighting your reading difficulties. Plus of course questioning what you were referring to in 1989.

I enjoy watching lots of films - and since you bring up the subject, you failed to spot that I had said the film mentioned was crap. Easily done I suppose when you have memory problems, which you clearly do.

I'll ignore the accusation about being a hooligan. But don't do it again.

the aritcles that I posted regarding the police in Barca and Turin praising liverpool fans, and the the other article which showed the two faces of UEFA, as only that morning Gillard was praising liverpool fans saying that they had no problems with them whatsoever, yet a day later, trying to shift the blame completley from them Platini came up with the accusations regarding liverpool fans

And haven't ignored it - I replied as soon as I saw it!

But you are still missing the bigger picture. You've called for Millwall ti be banned "because its always them". When I suggested all teams - including Liverpool - have thugs, youve stated they haven't.

I'm not suggesting for one moment, Millwall don't have problems with their fans, but I am suggesting Liverpool are not saints.

Not really a newspaper reader but are the London papers publishing the faces of the pitch invaders asking for readers to ID them? there will be hundreds I assume.

Not seen anything - and doubt they would tbh. Some might see that as a trophy of some sort!
