Just following on from the last thread i created.

The Dark Knight has received just under 30,000 votes and is currently ranked at 9.7. The new score means this movie has taken the top spot on the IMDB Top 250 list that was previously held by The Godfather.

The latest info in USA is the movie has broken another record by generating $66.5 million in one day! The Dark Knight is officially the highest grossing opening day movie in history!!! The previous record holder (Spiderman 3) grossed $59 million.

Make sure you guys watch it and as i said before, make sure you watch it in IMAX if you can.

The death of Ledger will obviously affect some people and generate revenue but nothing can take away the fact that the most reputable critics in the world have ranked this movie A*.

Yeah I know, it's meant to be a really good film, and he is meant to be brilliant in it. But does anyone else feel that it kind of taints it... that even though it is great, you just get the feeling if it was terrible, then well they wouldn't say. I dunno, just my thoughts. Definately gonna go see at an IMAX loved Batman Begins.

I don't think it would make a significant change in ratings either way.

I did read an interesting interview with Christian Bale which also covered the controversy surrounding Heath Ledger as some have demanded the certain scenes be cut. Christian Bale's feelings were quite clear, he said he connected well with Ledger on the set and he had no doubt that he would have wanted the film to be released in its entirety as one of his strongest performances.

I need to stop reading about this though, I'm a little concerned it's getting somewhat overhyped which can raise expectations too far.

It's in 1080p on the Blu-ray. The transfer is very well done and if that's how the Blu-ray transfer will be, it will definately be worth a purchase.
