The glee cast "scandal" in america-does this offend you?

So,some of the glee cast have sparked a storm in america-the usual "decent parent" groups and evangelical lunatics have accused leah michelle(rachel in glee) and others of "promoting paedophilia".

The most "offensive" pic is in the first post-leah michelle is 24 btw,but Im sure the lunatic fringe in america cant tell the difference between fantasy and real life. This is a major news story in america,so lets hear the views of HUKDERS-those with children or not-are you offended by this? does it promote paedophilia?or are the americans just mental?

They're the equivilent of sixth formers, so not under age here, but could be in some US states.

28?!?!? Wow.........even i could dip down to that age and have a poke. lol
#13
haha, suppose it is a little weird to have highschool girl in her knickers with ehr legs spread... i know she's older than her character but i suppose thats what people relate it too,

from the pic i wouldnt have recognised her nor thought it was paedophillic just a standard bit of internet smutt, but when its a mainstream highschool character i can understand why sum ppl are pished... just wish i wasnt semi agreeing with the evangelical lunatics here...

i think it would have been a lot more fine if it wasnt knickers but small shorts

EDIT: just read there the equivalent of sixth formers (randa1) so i suppose it hazy territory, hence the discussion

It's not the nicest of poses.

How can it "promote paedophilia" when paedophilia is the sexual attraction to children? They definitely are not children!

and I totally agree-but the characters they play go to school,so it shows that these groups cannot tell the difference between the real world and a tv show. I mean, billie piper was in doctor who(aimed at kids) and then did the secret diary of a call girl. No outcry over that, because people here recognise that she is an actress and none of it is real. Seems some of the american churches cant.

i suppose at the end of the day we have hollyoaks with the school kids shagging in it, so this isnt any worse, like i say though it aint the most sensitive pictures of a mainstream school character in her knickers with her legs spread...

Up until a few years ago i thought paedophilia was about having desires about children. It appears i was wrong and paedophilia is simply about finding someone who is under the legal age for sexual intercourse attractive, regardless of whether they are fully formed and exhibit all the signs of being fertile human beings, and dress like adults. Today i've even found out that pictures of 20 year olds dressed to look like they are 20 year olds can promote paedophilia if the 20 year old has played a teenager in a tv show .

i get your point, but mine would be she's not dressed as a 20yr old, she's dressed as the character from her work where she plays a school kid

cause if she's not dressed as her character there, then theres nothing wrong with the pic at all
#26
DAMN, thought glee was just about singing, heck if they dress like that then i will have to start watching the show.
#27
more 'paedophilia'

When you look at the picture are you attracted to the fact that she looks like a child or the fact that she looks like a half-naked fully matured female. She might be wearing clothing and be surrounded by images associated by school, but she has breasts and fully developed posterior, which i'm assuming paedophiles aren't interested in on accounts of children not having theses characteristics. Paedophiles aren't attracted to mature men or women they are attracted to children. They aren't attracted to teenage girls or boys who have began to mature and show signs of their sexuality. Paedophiles are attracted to children.

Not having a go at you as this is not related to what you said, but It seems to me that its ok to be attracted to a female at 16, but the day before her sixteenth birthday if you find her attractive you are a paedophile. What happens over the course of a second astounds me.

Actually I think it's paedophilia if you find someone who used to be pre-pubescent attractive oO

@ dungavel, i get what your on about and i think the boundaries are even moe confused dependant upon the age of the person who is the viewer effectively.. i suppose in law there has to be a boundary sumwhere even though in other cultures women and i use that term loosely (girls) will be married off at 13 to 40 yr old men, its obviously a complicated topic i cant actually be botherd to discuss thoroughly

do the pictures offend me? no

are they paedophillic? no

are they insensitive? and i suppose this is the variable subject to each persons own interpretation, things like hollyoaks bother me but most of these pics are allright with me (id have to actually know more abotu glee before i finalised my judgement :p).

the thing that bothers me is the sexualisation of material targeted at younger audiences, hence all the crap in hollyoaks which my young teen sister watches, so in essence the paedophillia side of things doesnt come into it at all for me, hope that doesnt contradict stuff i said earlier :D

Rubbish, every episode is full of innuendos anyway.
