like my grandma on my dads side. awful woman...she really didnt like my dad and us kids and favoured the rest of my cousins. as kids we felt really left out...now i wana punch her! see her at the mosque sometimes and shes like...oh thats ur kids...whats their names....i know my dad will be annoyed if i ignore her so i answer her and make no ore conversation. shes an awful woman who's got her daughters to hate my mum as well....always been made to feel like the loners on that family. i really detest them so iget what u r saying about ppl who go under the name of grandma but are complete idiots who deserve nothing more than being slapped....

grr.....me vexed thinking about them!

My MIL is a lovely woman. She has had a lot of heartache over past 3 years but still has a smile on her face and always willing to help - though she knows when to take a step back too. She is welcome at my home any time. My father in law is a right laugh and I love him to bits! We normally bump into him (literally) down the village pub on a Friday lol.

Like Tinks said though, my son's future wife is going to have big problems with me!

I was told to stay away from my girlfriends house because i didn't talk much i was a shy 17 year old.

Were still together her dad was telling alot of lies and twisting stuff to make other people in the family look bad he confronted us about someone in the family lying and we told him we knew it was him lying as he had been caught out far too many times he went mental trying to get his daughter to leave me we had been living together and had a daughter by this time she sided with me he threaten to petrol bomb our house and havn't talk to him since.

He's a tard he's an open racist and homophob an army type life is better without him.

I have the MIL from hell. My partner is home just 8 days a month and she demands she sees him every one of those days. She is soo selfish we moved 30 miles away from all family and friends and have locked the gates to our house so she can't just come round. She doesn't understand the word NO and only thinks of herself.

Just don't get me started on her cos I will write war and peace lol.

Rant over ................. and relax

My In-Laws were absolutely lovely, really nice, kind people, who couldn't go out of their way enough for me. I had a whole host of health problems and they were there for me from day one. Then I married their son. Pretty much from then they've been evil. It got worse still when I got pregnant. After years of trying, three miscarriages and a stillbirth, we'd given up. Obviously that was when I got pregnant. I went back to work, in the knowledge that I couldn't afford to do otherwise, and the MIL had the boy for the mornings. Right up until she refused to give him back to me one day and called the social. It took another six months of hell to clear that disaster up. I got pregnant again, stupidly soon, and then again after that. (If there's something you want really really badly, try doing everything you can to avoid it happening, and it'll happen!) Then they started on about how I must be making up my health problems (obviously they forgot that they took me and sat with me through a lot of my treatment), because no one in my situation would get pregnant so easily. Maybe I made up the stuff about the miscarriages too. More recently (I don't go round there, if she wants to see the kids, she can come here - and she doesn't) she dropped a present off here for my husband's birthday, immediately began undermining him and trying to remove our eldest from the house to go with her (he barely knows her), hubby freaked and told her where to go and that we'd had more than enough. She said something about coming back on my eldest's birthday (no mention of the other two who had birthdays coming up sooner) - which made me explode about her unfair treatment of one child over the others. I would rather they all had nothing, than she spoil one rotten and ignore the other two. We've not seen her since. FIL (who used to say I was the daughter he never had - though he did actually have a daughter!!!) now drops presents off - all cheap tat now - but at least that's fair! So, for Christmas they've got a box of biccies, which I may eat if I have another freakish craving for shortbread.

Rant over.... for now. Crikey, feels good to get it all out!

Just occurred to me, when we married I always though hubby would have a hell of a time with MY mum, but no, they're getting on fine! Actually rign each other for advice on what to buy me or the children, or my dad. Or just for a chat. It's lovely.

I don't really have any horror stories, although one of my ex's Mums never liked me,i think it was because her son split up with his girlfriend at the time(she chucked him out ) and then he started seeing me,the girfriend wanted him back a short time after, they had a child together and he said no,i think his Mum blamed me for him not going back to her !

Anyway, she was always "funny " with me,when he first split up with his ex he moved back home, when i was there she'd do things like ask him if he wanted a drink and never asked me lol

When we decided to live together his Mum told him it was a bad idea and if he moved in with me then she didn't want anything to do with him,she didn't either, they hardly had any contact for a few years and in that time his Dad died suddenly, bad times.
