Ok so my xbox was playing up in the last few months - constantly freezing and crashing and i was all ready to send it back to boots for a refund when it started going ok

Fast forward today to 10mins ago

Turn on my xbox --- the ring of death appears - all i see is red -- the 4 quadrants are lit - now i know that means the av cable isnt in right BUT ive checked and checked and checked and its in right and if i start the console with it not in it still goes red -- its not the cable either as i have 2 and it does the same

But it wont even work -- my tv isnt even registering it so i now have a dead xbox

WAAAAA - my day off tomorrow was planned for an all day cod4 fest/gh3

So anyone i play with online - sorry but my xbox is dead and will be contacting boots now so i can get my money back before the 12months warranty run out in march

Gunna pick up one of those arcade ones probs as im getting a hdtv so
Well the refunds gunna take a few weeks which is gunna be a pain - oh well at least those 160 unwatched dvds will be watched

Anyone know the cheapest bundle or sole console for the arcade -- dont need the pro console as have hard drive already and dont want elite

I remember when the GC first came out and a guy returned it(boxed with manuals and games complete and unscratched) and the staff at my Game laughed and said since he gave them a laugh they let him return it.

nope boots are great site -- i contacted them about a month ago saying it was crashing and they said due to them not having any stock of the xbox they would happily refund me - its only after the 12months id have to contact microsoft

Mine died the other day, just under 3 years old - sent it off to MS & got the motherboard replaced FOC, and got it back a few days ago - result :)

If you paid buy Paypal, return it to a store and they will refund you on the spot. :)

was 3 quadrants the other was lit a little but thats because the light came from the other ones

Turned it on this morning and it started fine no lights loaded a game and it crashed so its def nackered

Turned iton again 10mins ago and its 3 rings again - have recorded it to show

Maybe because you may only be able to replace it once in the first year daniel?

I'm not sure I know argos is like this.

You get a years warrenty and if its faulty 11 times in that year they'll replace it, but if the 12th console goes faulty in say, the 13th month, its manufacturer.

Well i got a new order number etc so i should have got 12months new warranty -- i think i got my replacement in march or april not sure

Im really annoyed as im desperate to play sum master league on pes

But the pain with boots is their order dont track after 6months so icant find what i paid originally or any order number/ date

Which is a pain and with them not replying i cant do anything

your warranty with store is only one year from original purchase. Tho, this shouldnt affect your statatory rights. spelling? lol

Well here are some messages i got from them 7th jan when it started to mess up and i was going to return it

I am sorry to hear that your replacement x box is now faulty. As we no longer sell this item I am afraid we will not be able to replace it for you. Please return the x box to us using the returns paperwork and we will arrange for a refund to be processed. Please accept my apologies for the disappointment caused. Now as i was unsure about the returns process and getting the correct amount adn payment i replied again



I said something along the lines of could you find out how much i originally paid and could i be refunded by cheque as my dad originally paid for it and its stupid putting it back in his account as its closed

Mmh, goodluck, but im pretty sure they won't do anything. except apologise and ask you to contact ms.

Only thing I can think of is ring MS and tell them it's getting RRoD.

It could get damaged in courier [which i think atm means your chip for you to view it on your tv has overheated/broken] So who's to know?

I rang microsoft first when my first 360 broke they said theyd send me a box - 2 weeks laster not a single thing so just contacted boots and got a replacement after sending it back
Well they said send it back so maybe i should find all the docs and return it -just worried about how id get my refund :oops:

Nah my friend got his 360 replaced took over a month --- and tbh id rather get the refund and get the arcade as at least its less pront to ROD

Will ring boots tomorrow as they open still

(i think what i will do is just send my 360 back via royal mail recorded with all the info then they will process it quicker - if i ring up i might get **** about rining microsoft)
