am I the only person not being sucked in by microsoft's market ploys?
just even take a 2 second look at they're supposed selling points

1. 250gb hard drive - same as the super elite
2. built in wifi - ever heard of an ethernet cable, it's only 1 extra cable ffs
3. it's smaller - yeah, but it's butt ugly too

so in reality it's no different than a super elite
don't believe the hype

It's got an ethernet port you muppet.

and it's quieter...My (ex) Xbox was as noisy as hell!! Had to turn up the volume on some games to hear it! Serious!

In the long run it'll be good value, im not going to be rushing out to buy one anytime soon.

I'll wait until xmas when it comes with 3 top games for £199.99 :)

Second stupid 360 thread of the night, is there a full moon or something?

I thought most people with elites saved the games onto the hard drive anyway, to play without spinning the disc and making it just as quiet

its makes it sightlier quieter but it was a just a solution I guess as they knew they had this in the pipeline

If the router is needed downstairs but I want the xbox upstairs then built-in wifi is a good delling point to save me planting a cable around the house.
#9
I believe microsoft are aiming for new customers. which makes a mockery of your points

Wally defo. You should have known that getting ethernet cabling routed through walls with the lowly cost of replastering and decorating is the obvious choice over this new model!!

Ah thought this was going to be a thread about "New Elite" Elite IV! I thought you were going to say they had finally given it a release date!:x

What exactly is the 'marketing ploy' mentioned here? They're not aimed at people who own existing consoles, it merely means anyone who buys a new one will be getting a superior model. If those who already have an Elite want to get a new one in spite of the lack of significant hardware differences, what's the problem with that?

You should change you avatar to this:
