The New Pampers Active Fit are AWFUL!!!

Hello,

Not sure if anyone has posted about this - I can't find anything.

Just wanted to see if anyone has yet to experience the "new" pampers active fit nappies.

I bought some during the week - although nothing written on the packet to say "New" or anything to suggest they'd changed.

There was a card inside when I opened them to say they have changed and they'd welcome any feedback we have on them.

Well, they are quite simply absolutely terrible imho!

They have absolutely no padding on the back at all and therefore are far less absorbant and of the two my daughter (10 months) has worn, both have leaked. I never had problems with leaks from the old style ones (other than of course occasionally).

I am planning on complaining to pampers in the week when they're open. The website feedback is all terrible - I mean no -one has anything nice to say about the new style!

I expect they will cause nappy rash as they're so unabsorbant and as a result need changing more. They are of course no cheaper and I wish there was something on the packaging to say they were different, so that I'd have bought a smaller pack to make sure they were okay, instead of buying a pack of 50.

If anyone uses these, I would seriously suggest you start looking for an alternative, I am definitely going to have to.

What does anyone else think of these?
What alternatives would anyone suggest? I've always found these great for both my children but alas no more.

And yes, getting in there first, proctor and gamble spawn of the devil and all that...!

p.s. have taken pics (I know bit sad) so will upload to photobucket.

Top one in both pics is the old style,
bottom one in both pics is the new style - no padding at the back at all...you can see a line where all padding ends (back of nappy is on right of pic)

Bring back terry nappies. Better for the planet

i have never used that type I have always stuck with the baby dry ones, simply because you get more in the box for your money and have never had any leaks last 12 hours sleeping no probs. now as for huggies.....well thats another waste of money:thumbsup:

um terry nappies are still around, well the equivlent anyway used them on my first 2, and for my third until they stopped being absorbant

i always found the boots own brand ones to be really good much better than huggies and pampers in my opinion

They stopped being absorbant as you use fabric softner. Fabric softner makes towels perform worse as it coats the fabric with a water resistant barrier. So you shouldn't use it on towels, however it's like drying yourself with sandpaper. So I alternate softner and no softner. Works a treat

Not if you take into account washing machine wear and tear and power usage plus other factors.

never used fabric softner on them, I knew that before I bought them, always use it on towels though, just to rough for LO sensitve skin otherwise, although I do find the tumble drier can have the same effect:thumbsup:

yep like time and having to put up with the stink of taking them out the bucket, and the liners, and the washing powder, although tbh those types of things you buy anyway, so you dont notice and extra couple of washes a week

Thanks for the warning, I've liked these nappies for my LO in the past but can see from the pics how different they are
