The price of Marge - As dramatic as the price of Petrol

No, seriously!

What is going on with the price of marge? I've watched as margarine prices have soared in the last few months - Lidl's cheapest 'Sunflower Light' Marge now costs 59p & is never available as opposed to 42p just a couple of months ago. 79p for Tesco Sunflower spread. Almost everything else over £1, except for Stork which I managed to pick up for 58p in Lidl at the weekend.

Should be blocking the isles imo. Peek marge. Out with Labour. Switch to butter. Etc.

Discuss!!!

Cheapest bread I get is 37p Value wholemeal @ Tesco. It's like they don't want me to find it though - it's hidden underneath the more expensive bread and often is never priced. Nowhere else is as low as this, even Lidl's cheapest wholemeal is 59p now. Would like to get some fancy sesame seed stuff more often but I sure as hell can't afford it!

Spreads (vegetable oil based ones) are going up as is vegetable oils, due to a direct link in petrol/dieslel prices, more and more diesel owners are mixing a quantity of oil with their diesel in the tank as its cheaper than diesel! Most diesels dont need adaptations either to run on this blend I think upto 70/30 mix of diesel to oil is fine.

yep i watched it last night too!

Watched what? What programme was it on as I wouldnt mind more info on this subject myself, esp. regarding taxes due to using it as a fuel rather than foodstuff. Had to laugh at the last boot sale i stood at there was a guy with a tranny van and he must have had half a pallet of veg oil in the back! Apparantly hed picked it up dirt cheap as it was very close to its date, on the slack periods he was stood pouring bottle after bottle of oil in his diesel tank, with a big pile of empties round his feet!
