Hi all, hope everyone is enjoying the weather, quick question for all you brainy computer people out there,i am wanting too buy the sims 3 when it comes out(sad i know) but was just wondering if someone could help me and tell me if it will work on my lappy
my laptop for home is pretty basic it's specs are

AMD x2 TL-50 Dual Core 2X 1.6 GHz
1GB DDR2 Ram
120GB Hard Disk Drive
DVD Multi-format Writer
ATi Radeon Xpress 1100 256MB Graphics

and the sim's need's

FOR WINDOWS VISTA
Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.
I guess because i dont have the ram it will just run very very slow?
many thanks in advance

It should do yes but you might want to consider buying some more RAM :)

You will probably get away with it.
Ram is quite cheap and easy to upgrade though.

I find I need loads more than the recommended spec for sims 2 as I add loadssss of custom content, but even without it still used to run very jittery on my old pc, which should have been good enough to play it. So I'm guessing if sims3 is anywhere near the same, you will need a higher spec lappy, especially ram.

I have a dual core processor. What do you think will be the minimum to play this game. Mine is 2.0ghz and I have 4gb RAM

Sounds good so far, but it would also depend on your graphics card.

no problem- if it says you fail on some of the components im sure you'll still be able to run it. just wont be as smooth as it could be or the graphics etc

thanks for this, mine also fails for the CPU speed

CPU Speed
Minimum: (XP) 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent; (Vista) 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent [If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.]
You Have: 1.86 GHz

FAIL: Sorry, your CPU Speed does not meet this minimum requirement. It may be time to purchase a more powerful computer to make your life easier. Click the 'We Recommend' button to discover how you can.

How could i solve this problem? 'The we recommend' button just displays gamer pc's priced in $

I had this -

CPU Speed
Minimum: (XP) 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent; (Vista) 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent [If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent].
You Have: 1.40 GHz FAIL: Sorry, your CPU Speed does not meet this minimum requirement. It may be time to purchase a more powerful computer to make your life easier. Click the 'We Recommend' button to discover how you can.
