The Sun is hardly an icon of political correctness or tolerance.

I for one loved how Celebrity Big Brother put a nice fat spotlight on how bigoted and ignorant people can be behind closed doors and within their own circles.

It's just a shame nothing is being said about giving, talentless wannabes who want everything without skill, talent or hard work, fame and fortune and most of us sitting back, doing nothing and condoning this culture and watching those beside us revel in such a disgusting culture. The people who buy Heat/OK magazine etc, watch the crappy E4 and Living TV shows, who actually buy the red tops when they cover this rubbish and actually support the Jades, Jo's Danielles of this world.

But is what The Sun doing better than nothing? Albeit they are jumping on the pro-PC bandwagon for sales...

The Sun is a rag and doesn't deserve to be called a newspaper.

From looking at my location I think you can assume why my reasoning of this is.

It's just their typical bandwagon jumping. "Right, what does everyone hate at the moment? Racism. Let's pretend we do as well. Until the next time a non-white person does something we don't like."

Can I just ask why this is scouser? I've heard it mentioned but don't knwo the full story.

Sorry if it brings bad memories but just curious. What did The Sun do?

I luv your quote about talent and genius - although, talent if applied in this case, would be questionable - very, very - ****** it would not exist.

No worries birdboyuk. If people want to know the truth about this paper I don't mind explaining it. Someone who uses this site doesn't really appreciate what we have gone through in Liverpool as a result of this tragedy after reading their signature but that's another story, but if someone wants to know I'll answer.

On April 15th 1989 followers of Liverpool Football Club went to Hillsborough, the home of Sheffield Wednesday, for an FA Cup Semi-Final game against Nottingham Forest.

On that day 96 of those supporters who had gone to witness something as simple as a football game never returned home to their families. The police have officially been blamed by Lord Justice Taylor but that seems to have meant nothing to this rag of a paper.

Two days after the disaster, The Sun printed on their front page in thick black writing "THE TRUTH". The 'truth' as they put it included claims that Liverpool supporters urinated on the dead, picked their pockets and beat up police who were trying to help. Liverpool people have their knockers but even this is so sick to accuse us of. Where did these claims come from? According to the Sun it was from police officers on patrol. The same police officers who were desperate to deflect the blame from themselves for messing up such an operation. The Sun refused to give names of these witnesses and printed these lies.

Imagine if one of the dead was your brother/sister/mother/father or child and to hear this is a pain I could not imagine. They know it is lies, we know it is lies and Lord Justice Taylor says it is lies, yet the Sun have only recently tried to apologise. Too little, too late I'm afraid. And this apology was not even truly meant, but to try and increase their extremely low sales figures in the region.

For 18 years the families have campaigned for justice and a public enquiry, and every time they have been denied.

Kelvin MacKenzie, the Sun's editor at the time of these allegations, has infuriated us further recently by saying that he still maintains this to be the truth yet has absolutely ZERO evidence to back this up. Liverpool council have invited Mr MacKenzie to Liverpool to explain his theories to which he has declined.

Who is the real scum Mr MacKenzie?

Apologies for those who are bored of the politics and just wish that Liverpool people would stop wallowing in self pity (Boris Johnson said this after Ken Bigley was beheaded!) but if it was a member of your family wouldn't you be campaigning for justice and for these lies to be proved false?

Again, apologies to those who think that this sort of stuff isn't relevant to this website.

NO need to apologize.
I was in Germany at the time, but I remember seeing it on TV. A very sad day.

You don't need to say anything as every lost sale for that rag is a step in the right direction.

All the best.

I see this scumbag paper everyday where I work as outsiders from the Liverpool area bring it in . They can't understand the revulsion this paper has inflamed in Liverpool people , once educated the majority sympathise & never buy it again . If Kelvin MacKenzie was on fire on the floor I'd **** all over the grass next to him & let the ******* burn .
