You start off by laughing, you read further on, the laugh turns to a smile, even further on, the smile disappears after you realise all this is actually true and we now live in a very, very sad world.

You end up crying and longing for those past days of innocence.

Have a nice life :)

It wasn't all good in 1960. I was upset about the ants - poor defenceless creatures.:p

This post illustrates why I get so irritated with the way the country is going. It's almost a caricature of how politicians may have wanted it 30 years ago. I agree, you start off by chuckling, and end up wondering wtf happenned to the UK.

I agree. More sad than a joke.

This is doing the rounds recently. On one forum I frequent, it was posted as a serious argument, obviously by someone that couldn't make their own! To be fair, it is completely bias to 1960. When truth be known, things have always been "bad". The two years can be shown to give two different extremes though, arguably fueled by media.

I work in a school and I find it disturbing that people actually believe to some extent that the scenarios depicted above could possible be typical of school life in the present. They are wholly inaccurate and if believed could actually be dangerous.
Also, as someone who went to school in the 60's when bullying was commonplace, parental abuse was hidden/thought to be part of life. teachers were unapproachable and certainly would not involve themselves in anything to do with your home life, however awful, I would much rather be a pupil now.
