So the american government is advising its citizens to stop going to the cinema, pop concerts or anywhere where people are in close proximity to each other in confined spaces. How do we know this? because they just had a press conference in a tiny room in the white house packed to the walls with journalists and cameramen(rolls eyes)
And the mexican governments advice? "stay at least 6 feet away from other people" given the population of mexico this may prove slightly tricky methinks.
Is this another case of the press desperate for the ultimate panic story? you could almost detect the glee when the bbc discovered 3 cases in the united kingdom.
Remember when bird flu was gonna wipe out the entire world? Im not suggesting its not a risk and 81 have died in mexico but maybe the press should stick to facts instead of computer graphics predicting the spread and the number of deaths if "this happens" or "that happens" and wheeling out endless experts talking about how similar it is to the millions who died in 1918.
Call me a cynic, but I suspect the british and american governments may see this as a way of diverting headlines away from the more uncomfortable truths they have to address.
