i shoulda won :)

Blue Peter winner is BBC chief's daughter

The nine-year-old girl who won a Blue Peter competition to design a coin for the London 2012 Olympics is the daughter of a senior BBC executive, it was revealed today.

Florence Jackson, of Bristol, is the daughter of Andrew Jackson, the new head of the corporation's Natural History Unit (NHU) and a former BBC reporter.

I accept it looks dodgy but I would imagine the kid would be a bit upset if she won the competition fairly (it may have been) and now shes getting doubted because of it.....
#3
you, really, you couldn't make it up!
#4
You'd think they would have terms like 'employees and relatives of employees are not allowed to enter competitions'

Course it looks dodgy, but then maybe it isn't

Could be pure luck of course, a bit like MP's expenses, great if you can get away with it! :w00t:

She beat 17,000 rivals in a competition billed by the Royal Mint as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Her design of a high jumper has been struck in to a commemorative 50p coin that will be available next year.

The BBC insist no rules were broken.

Yes just pure coincidence my backside, what a load of balls she beat 17,000 kids and she is the daughter of senior BBC executive it just doesn't wash sorry,

All competition t&c's I've ever read exclude family and friends of employees from entering.

ln fact their latest doctor who competition states

"1. The competition is open to all UK residents (including residents of the Channel Islands and the Isle Of Man) aged between 6 and 12 years on the closing date (2nd November 2009), except those closely related to a BBC staff member or anyone involved in the competition. "

Read this in comments and it make me laugh
# A vicious madman terrorist was removed from a coach en route to Denmark. "Millions of lives have been saved by our gallant Police" said Gordon Brown. "I am recommending them all for the Victoria Cross". The terrorist is due to have his hands cut off in public later this week.

# A lefty commie judge was taken away from his home and shot today, after suggesting the public had a right to know about British torture involvement in Guantanamo. "That silly old fart was a waste of space, so I had him killed" said Government Minister Rabid Sillyrant.

# The BBC is going to offer pay increases to staff and presenters who call each other "Pakis" in future.

# Something very horrible happened in Russia today, caused by the mad Stalinist dictator Vladimir Putin. It was so horrible that we can't show it to you. But believe us - he's a mad ******* who needs to be nuked as soon as possible. Got that?

# Iran. Now there's a country no-one would miss. In the BBC's entirely objective view, of course.

# After the News, this week's Charity Appeal is in aid of Mossad employees who have fallen into distress in old age, and no longer have any Palestinian children to murder. Can you help them, please?

This has been the BBC = Bent, Biased, and Criminal.

he competition closed in March, before any discussions between the NHU and Andrew Jackson.

"The eventual winner was selected as a finalist in March. Andrew is due to start at the NHU at the end of October".

But please, don't let things like 'facts' or 'reality' get in the way of your bitter, bile-filled spouting.

He has been directly involved in producing or directing more than 100 hours of TV and has overseen many more in his role as MD.

He began his TV career in BBC News and Current Affairs before joining the Natural History Unit in 1986.

He worked as a producer-director on several award-winning series for BBC One and Two.
