Thieving Scum

Went down to my car today and it seems to have some parts missing. I hate theives, this is gonna cost me £200 excess on my insurance and a day of (my new) job tomorrow.

Its a fiesta zetec s, which car thieves love. Plus the driveway is secluded and lots of people have had cars nicked/broken into there before. I think when its back from the body shop i'm going to sell it and get a crappy car that doesn't matter. People are such scum arn't they, bring back capital punishment!!

Some pictures!

thats a shame, stolen to order perhaps? keep your eye on ebay for fiesta bumpers in your area, you might just catch the crook. They would be easy to move on with them being a desirable colour and off a zetec-s.

I hope you catch them and dont get into any trouble at work, good luck in the new job!
#2
That's horrible that is a disgrace.
#3
Oh my!

Sad to see those pictures. Dunno what else to say...:?
#4
Yeah deffinatly to order I think. Its a shame that now they know its there after I have it repaired the chances of it happening again are very high i would think :(
#5
Oh Dear :-(

Yes there are some thieving b*$ta*ds in this world....

Have a hug :friends:
#6
Yeah its horrible isnt it. Im thinking of selling it and getting a car for about £1500 - £1800. Maybe a Ka or clio. Something thats not so nice.
#7
It's appaulling that you have to suffer and downgrade because of this.

Could you not get an improved alarm system? this would lower your insurance and add a few £'s to the value of the car.

Do you have a garage you could keep it in?
#8
I havent the money for an alarm system (this £200 excess has killed me!!) . Its kept on the driveway which isnt connected to the flats, its on a corner of the road if that makes sence - basically it cant be seen from our flats and there is no house opposite either. There is a garage there that belongs to this flat but its the landlords and not mine and filled with junk. No chance of getting him to clear it out as we havent had any electricity (well, lights) for over a week and he still hasnt sent round an electrcian (just dont ask).

Its a fact of life that these things happen but i dont want to go to bed every night wondering whats happening to my car.
#9
Wow I can't believe people have the cheek to do that!!! My dad got up one morning to find his car on jacks after a couple of tyres had been stolen but what a mess they've made of your poor car!!
#10
Thats really bad!, Hope you catch the scumbags!!!!! (Slim chance but it'd be nice.)

Its a shame you can't have something new/nice without someone spoiling it.
#11
That's bloody awful. I wonder why they left the Wheels?
I agree with someones post above, I bet the parts have been stolen to order or ebay?
#12
They've got your number plates aswell, Could mean a possible chance of them trying to clone a stolen Fiesta.

I missed that, good point.

I thought that at first but they dont have the plates, they left them on the ground. The police dont care, I didnt expect them to really. They were meant to ring me back today with a crime number but never did, i got on to them and they just said they were busy today and would phone tomorrow. Cant get the insurance co to go ahead with the pick up and repair till i have the crime number tho!

Yeah it seems that you can't have anything nice without it being nicked or ruined. My first car was a F reg astra and got broken into then I had a crappy Pug 205 (1995 model) so this was the best car I ever had (been driving for 5 years) and this happens. Whats the point of having nice things!
#15
Very lucky (if you can say that) to be left with the wing mirrors and the spare wheel aswell, They normally get nicked with the rest.
#16
I've seen similar thefts happen with friends' cars but nothing as bad as that - in some ways it's possibly worse than nicking the car entirely. As the parts are pretty much untrackable there's little the police can do about it.

They may well have a locking nut on them, there's no protection on ripping other parts of the car off though :(

Thats the thing though, You can buy Ford locking nuts off ebay with the locking key nut that'll fit another Ford!!!

yeah they had a locking nut. The guy who looked at it earlier from a glass company (back windscreen has been ripped out and rubber cut but you cant see from photos) said he had never seen anything as bad!

Someone needed some parts and got them, hopefully the car will still be there tomorrow though as it wont be at the garage until tomorrow!

Well i expect that they will come back tonight and take them then!!
#21
Sorry about your car. :w00t: Seems some folk will stop at nothing nowadays.

If your car is repaired on the insurance you would be wise to get an alarm fitted by a reputable installer.

Also worth noting that on items like headlamps / windscreens and rear lights you can get the reg number etched onto them which may discourage some thieves.

Anyway that you could set-up cctv or a Webcam from your room pointing down on the car etc?

Thats the only real chance these people will get caught.

OMG

What a$$holes!

Can you see your car from your window?
Might be worth £20 investment and getting a cheap camera which should prevent, if not certainly aid the poilce in future. I'm sure the guys on here would help you find a good cam thats cheap and reliable.

I stick to low reg cars in immaculate condition now, they still retain quite a bit of their value but theres nothing on them really worth nicking (toutch wood).

What a bunch of to$$ers - that makes me sooooooo mad!

(edit: Iom-RF beat me to it about the cam - lol)
#24
Nope as I said earlier, the parking spot is not over looked by anyone, including me (its an old old building with a funny layout). So nowhere to put camera or anything like that. When its fixed im gonna leave it out on the street at night. Probably be safer there but yellow lines all down the road so would have to move it at 6am to the parking spot everyday, pain in the ass.
#25
Can you not get a wireless CCTV system?
#26
Or you could put a dummy CCTV camera next to the car, perhaps fixed to the wall?
#27
I've been looking at your previous posts, you ain't having much luck are you? :-(
I wonder how people would feel about a bit of fundraising to help. I could supply a 'gift' if we were to have a 'draw' type thing. It would just be something I have plenty of, but the postage £8 would need to be 'covered. Just an idea.;-)

Im not sure how these work but i shall explain a bit about where i live.

you cannot see the driveway from any window in the house as it is blocked by the garage building.

hope you like my paint skills!

Just an idea, a 1M LED Light/Lamp:-

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/DINOSTEVEUS/GLOWLAMP15.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/DINOSTEVEUS/GLOWLAMP14.jpg

Any ideas on how to do this????:? :?
#32
What is the approximate distance (direct) from where the car is normally parked to your place?
#33
What would be the advantage of a glow lamp?

(or are you just thinking of something nice?)

A way of raising a bit of money. People could 'buy' a number and a Mod picks a number out of a cyber hat, that number gets the Lamp. 50p or £1.00 a number? I don't know, just an idea.

maybe about 20 metres and we are the upstairs flat.
#36
I'd gladly chip in £1 or £2 for a CCTV kit... Here's a nice one http://www.focusdiy.co.uk/invt/195592

or http://www.focusdiy.co.uk/invt/195593

Obviously basic, but there are others available :)
#37
You might be able to claim against the victims support insurance fund, as this is criminal. Drop dog_cop a Pm and ask him, I am sure he will know who you can claim against instead of your own insurance.
#38
I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there - but this has a broadcast range of upto 33m http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7018442.htm
