There's an ice rink just outside Belfast in Dundonald.

There's a bowling alley in the Odyssey, also the ice hockey team the Belfast Giants might still be playing.

There is a good museum in Botanic Gardens.

id recommend the murals tho they may be to young

I hear rioting is the in thing. Although your kids might be embarrassed with their parents around. Rioting with mum and dad is "s0000 unkewl".

this.plus the ulster museum.plenty of shopping in belfast city center or take a bus to lisburn.if ur gonna be over for a few days its well worth taking the train to derry or go to the giants causeway(northern irelands only world heritage site) - id HIGHLY recommend the causeway and possibly the bushmills factory while ur up there if you have the time.

W5 interactive museum at odyssey arena, great but will be really busy, as one of the few places to visit. good in bad weather though. cinemas and restaurants in that complex too. check website for whats on there. easier to taxi to it if you take my advise if you dont know the roads.
have a look for events at the waterfront hall, much closer to the city centre.
the ulster museum is up at the old part of the city, beside the university with lovely old gardens and grrenhouses. its just been refurbished so probably very good. the museum isnt open on a monday though. shopping is mostly downtown with two shopping centres in mostly pedestrian area. parking wardens a nightmare like other cities.
am not sure if the big wheel, mini london eye, will still be at the city hall, thats part of belfast city council so i guess details on their website. you can tell i havent been on it.
the ice rink at dundonald is a fair distance out of town, but ok if its your thing. stormont the seat of govenment out there too but not sure if its teenagers things unless doing history at school or politics, as it doesnt tell you anything.
most restaurants are up and around the university area. its a matter of traipsing round to find what you like, some great pizza etc if you avoid the chains.
will add anything else i think of. but bring good walking shoes, the pavements are often poor.
also the drivers here are rubbish compared to what you are used to, imho, so you have to guess what they are doing as just go where they want when they want no logic, cut 3 lanes at a time no indication. better wiser than not, they drive slower, and never get in the right lane at roundabouts either in my experience.
various tours can be arranged at the tourist office, but its not all that useful perhaps for kids stuff. there is a free newsletter i believe, ni4kids you may get at the airport or at tourist office, published every holiday time, with events etc. the city council website probably have details of events in their parks etc over easter which may give you some good ideas.#
hope you have a good time.

Jings ...... how helpful is this site?! Got loads suggestions already so cheers everyone. Like most teenage girls, shopping is their favourite past time but am keen for them to forget about shoes and bags for wee while and focus on more interesting things to do! Think this could be the last family all together hol as we all wanna do different things! X

Crazy golf at the Ice Bowl in Dundonald. Excellent course. There is also bowling and ice skating at the ice-bowl if that floats their boat.

I would say W5 is too childish for teenagers tbh.

The chocolate making place - could that be Aunt Sandra's Candy Factory? http://www.auntsandras.com/flash/aunt_sandras.html

It's ok but will only kill half an hour or so.

The crazy gold at the ice bowl is indeed amazingly good fun

well said.

And yeah the crazy golf out at dundonald is very good and there is a giants causeway tour that leaves from opposite the youth hostel on Donegal Road. Or if you hire a car its worth driving up the coast road up north and you could take in the carrick a rede rope bridge

Giants causeway & carrick-a rede rope bridge are certainly worth visiting.

w5 depends how scientific the kids are, but depends also on what exhibits on. is quite expensive though, and not worth it if you are near a science park anyhow, but its likely to be wet so its an option.

giants causeway is a long day trip and carrick a rede bridge is also very expensive and a lot say its not worth it especially if you dont like heights. it doesnt always open in bad weather particularly.

certainly if you there for more than weekend it is worth doing the coastal route, even up to derry city, which is a bustling city, full of history. depends on how much driving you want to do at the end of the day.

ulsterbus do great day trips/tours all over the place and are good value, check out at translink website. the trains arent nearly as good an option, though. the buses depart from the city centre bus station, most times they include the entrance fees as well which is handy.
