Got two kids 2 and 4 so hopefully the sun will be out for the beach, what else is a good day out locally?
Thanks

Having been there, the best time you will have is when you come home

i would suggest find the pub and get yourself and the kids drunk!, interesting the above link shows there is nothing to do!

Agree, we went there and the place is a dive really, just go to the beach each day and spend as little time in the chalet as poss.

Thanks have heard they are nice places will have a look

I know the pontins is a dive but people have told me it's a nice part of country so was looking for things to do roundabout, don't really plan on being on site during day anyway

Bodiam Castle is close by, and well worth a visit, kids will love it as well, as they often have medieval displays and archery etc.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway is a 15" gauge main-line in miniature, built in 1927 and operating steam and diesel hauled trains between Hythe and Dungeness via Dymchurch, St. Mary's Bay, New Romney and Romney Sands stations. The children would love this.
We have been to Pontins for 3 years now. Yes the chalets are awful but you only sleep in them. There are activities on all day for the children and the entertainment in the evening is ok. Its what you make of it so just have fun!

thanks for those, sure a castle will go down well and littlest loves trains.
For £10 as long as it's ok to sleep in I'll be happy!

I'm off to Pontins with my two boys next week too. I've never been there before and have heard that its a dive, but it's a cheap chance to get away. If your kids love trains and you're planning to go to Bodium, take the train there...it just adds to the adventure. When I went there last time there was a group of little girls all dressed as princesses bless them.
My boys have seen that theres a go karting track down there and are desperate to go there. I also found a rare breeds centre down there too.
I think if we go with an open mind, then the holiday will be whatever we make it.

Happy hols :)

Have been to pontins before and will be going again at the end of the month, found it quite fun and the kids loved it, hastings has a lot to offer, Rye villae is a good day out and dymchurch is supposed to be quite good.
