started with 2 spots this morning on his neck, had a bath a while ago and got more on his back (about 5) and 2 on his arm.

No sign as yet of my 6 month old getting it

for chicken pox?

April is often when kids get it for some reason, they are good ages to get it as its out of the way so they don't miss school and they shouldn't scratch too much. little one will most prob get it in about 2 wks

they should look like tiny blisters which will start to scab in about 5 days. piriton can help, as can calamine cream. hth and they are better soon

Get some Calamine lotion to dap on the spots to help the stop the irritation. My son only had it very mild when he was around 2 years, didn't bother him much at all. Hope he dosen't get too many spots.

chicken pox spots are easily identified by 2nd day they are definate eruptions - you can self diagnose easily. some children are poorly with them but it is a common childhood illness - go and see your doc if you are really concerned about your child - otherwise paracetamol and calamine should do the trick. my three have all had it to differing levels.once scabs are fully formed over pus type spots most people think that the contagion is over. Its amazing how that 2 week rule is so accurate our school had pupils going down with chicken pox every other friday for a while. good luck hope its a mild dose for your child .

about 4wks i posted a request on here cuz it looked like my son had chicken pox and it turned out he did started with a small blister only had a few for a few days then 4 days later the poor begger was covered in them, someone suggested eurax cream and i have to say sooooo much better than calomine lotion the lotion seemed to make his itching worse, take him to docs in the morning and keep an eye on him as a few of my sons went septic (he did suffer bless him) also give the small one an anti histermine tablet that also calmed my son down. good luck its defo a parents testing patient time x

yeh we had an emergency appointment had to go basically last appointment and wait outside, just phone the docs and say you think he may have chicken pox and they will then sort you probably a late or fiirst thing appointment

My little lad had them not so long ago he was 12 months, was awful seeing him like that but I suppose the younger they get them the better in a way, hope yours doesnt have them bad, careful when they scab over, he scratched a few off and he is scarred.

ps, we thought he escaped it, his sister had them around 2.5weeks before, incubation period or something (no doubt someone will come along and tell me I am wrong lol) but it may be a while before a sibling shows signs.
