The for sale/wanted section is an absolute joke at times.

Fancy closing someones post because they were looking for items to help them start their child minding business.

it was closed becuase they pointed out no business trades.

WTF?

They are asking for second hand items and stuff from people that may have things laid around their homes.

It is not as if they have come on to sell 50 mobile phones, or 5 vehicles from the forecourt of their garage or even offering their plumbing service.

I think the mods need to show a little common sense.

They have probably violated the FS/FT rules in some way shape or form - thats why.

Who was looking for stuff then?

It's not like a childminding business is a huge profitable business - lol. I should know! It's alot of hard work over many hours, and your stuff gets trashed by the kids who are yet to learn restraint and respect - or just simply won't sometimes!

I hope this thread doesn't get closed - afterall it is a discussion and opinion!

I hope the enquirer finds what she wants

She should try car boot sales

Any thing under a £10 can go under expenses without a receipt but make sure it is written down on paper with date, cost and description as proof if necessary and keep with all receipts!

If we allow offers in a wanted thread for business items, we would have to let others do the same. Sorry if it sounds harsh, no infractions were given and if someone offered business stock in there, they would have breached FS rules

Yes, HUKD should make a special exception for this business. It won't lead to another user moaning when their thread is closed for the same reasons.

People like to complain about rules that are as clear as day.

I know plenty of nurseries that take second hand items. And childminders have lots of new items too - just not everything needs to be bought new - it's consumerism gone mad!

Childminders and parents are all on budgets. We all do the best we can with the resources we have. Getting something second hand does not mean it is naff! Parents inspect the premises and equipment when they come round. They have enough savvy to know whether they would leave their child with any carer or not.

The OP asked for contracts and multiculteral toys! These are common things to be bought second hand, as firstly they are very expensive, and secondly they have to be bought from specialised shops usually.

Grrr got a bee in my bonnet now

You're welcome - I wish you lots of luck in your venture.

And if by chance you make money out of it - let me know your secret!

I've had alot of damage done to my household this holidays by 2 particular girls who are heavy handed! One of them is a baby - but she does like to seek and destroy! It wears me out chasing after them lol. School times are fab though - routine, groups, and the kids are great too!

I hope you get some fabby kids :-D

best wishes Xxx

Wow, and touch wood you or your family never have to witness it first hand but how often do you think hospital bedding gets used?

Also the toys in your local doctors/hospitals etc etc?

Also your local nursery? Do they always purchase brand new? Never receive toys as gifts? :whistling:
