Looking for a new TV but want a decent warranty with it, missus won't let me have any bigger than 37" or spend more than £650, I would also like a decent warranty with it. Found http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/index~modelcode~PKG-LGE-37LC55.htm this one with the DVD player and that on empiredirect. Is it any good>

Im having a new pokemon on my avatar every week :-D
Charmander next week

The contrast ratio is pretty good - not amazin by any means but basically blacks will be black and whites wil be white so the colours better

Its not full hd but still a good tele plus a dvd player and surround sound - although lg is good id personally forget teh dvd player and surround sound and go for this at £20 cheaper

Can you recommend one? within my price range

I don't know how much the home theatre package is worth but the tv can be bought for £487 from AJ electronics or Dixons (if you use a code)
http://www.ajelectronics.co.uk/ViewProdDetails.asp?Prod_code=37LC55

and don't forget Quidco

That one is pretty good i dont know warranty wise

You get a 3 year warranty if you join empires special club, that costs £20 so It may work out cheaper to do that. Warranty is quite important to me.

Samsung 37inch for £649.99 and 5 years free gurantee

I believe they do a price match so give them amazons price and you should get it for £550

They don't match online stores like Amazon, Dixons etc

However they will match shops like Richer Sounds or Empire Direct stores.

Made some suggestions in the Deals Wanted thread....

Hey i know basic knowledge of hd teles and i know is samsung is a top brand and that tv has decent specs - plus its got 3 hdmis so your set

Its your own money but with a samsung you cant go wrong

Heres a few reviews

After a lot of looking around we decided on this TV. Samsung TV's seem to have some great reviews out there. It is by far the best TV for the price, It loks great on the wall, it has all the features you could want from a new TV and it's plenty big enough for any front room.
Only downside I have noticed so far is changing channels is slow, I think it might be dead batteries in remote, but they were new with the TV. Haven't tried changing batteries, but nobody else seems to have this problem so it must be that. Doesn't have great sound, but I dont think any LCD's do. Will be plugging it in to amp anyway.
Would recommend....dont buy a 32".....not when you can get this at a great price.
P.S. At the moment you wont find this TV much cheaper than this, I have searched!!

I've had this tv for about 4mnths now, and it's amazing! the picture is great, and the built in freeview is very smooth.

This tv is big! great value for money!

This TV is the one of the best looking TV's that I've ever had. They styling is amazing and it really makes the room look better. Picture quality is amazing when using HD and there are enough inputs on the TV to have pretty much whatever you want connected to the back. The response of the remote is a little slow with the built in freeview and turning on the TV - but aside from that I have no complaints with this purchase.
The remote that comes with the TV also controls a load of other hardware including my Sony DVD player which is a bonus as I hate having loads of remotes!

All in all and quality TV that I'm very happy with.

I ordered this lcd on the saturday it came wednesday so 3 working days which was great! I did not realise how big this really was!! My brother has a 32" and i thought it was 42" so i was chuffed to see it was huge! (my 1st lcd tv ever) :)
I have to say playing my 360 through this is very sweet, i thought with a bigger screen it would not be so good.. it is its perfect.
Oh, i went to currys before i ordered this they were trying to sell me a 32" samsung same as this one but an older version for £580 so im so so glad i waited.
Overall im a very happy chappy! A must buy for everyone!

Ordered this last Friday evening and it arrived the following Wednesday morning but had to wait until I got home from work to open my extravagent purchase paid for by overtime at work ! This TV as many other reviewers have said dominates the room and looks fantastic as does the picture through the scart lead from the sky digi box. I ordered the samsung upscaling dvd player but cant comment on that as the HDMI lead i ordered still hasnt arrived - dunno why play couldnt have put this in with either the tv or dvd order but there ya go. i did a lot of research over six months before parting with my hard earned and i have to say i am very pleased .

EASY TO UNPACK AND NOT TOO HEAVY
EASY TO SET UP
UP AND RUNNING IN FIVE MINUTES FROM UNPACKING

I havent tried the freeview as dont have an aerial yet so cant comment on that. will hook up my xbox 360 later to see how that looks on this behemoth of a roger melly ! Buy this with confidence and at this price you cannot go wrong.
