Thomas Cook are really hitting the skids

SyzableSyzable[mod]

Thomas Cook are to meet banks today over their growing debts.

Could they be the biggest name for some time to fold?? Wouldn't surprise me, High Street travel is beoming more and more a thing of the past.

If they don't buckle can see them going online only

I must be the only one who prefers booking in a proper travel agent lol. For the past 2 years I have booked instore with Thomsons but they have always met my internet price for me.

The place we go to in a Thomsons only resort booking from the UK, Buying it seperatly online costs more than going direct with Thomsons.

Nor surpise really, their model is outdated, who needs the services of a rep to sell them overpriced tours these days.
Last time I went on holiday where there there was a rep, I had a barney with her as she berated me for not attending the welcome meeting, and informing the other guests that the 40 quid trip she was flogging could be done for 1.50 on the local bus.

Yes as they match the web price.

First choice for us. Agree 100% about buying seperatly. Think this year maybe too expensive. Have always managed to get a deal for about the £1,000 mark. Went to book for next year and it was nearer the £2,000.

The level of stoopidness on this forum sometimes tells me there will always be a need for someone to hold their hand and dot every i when booking a holiday.

Some can't even google a simple telephone number or website address so booking a family holiday by themselves without the aid of a live person seems unlikely.

Not sure if thats aimed a little at me as I use the store travel agents, But I just like the fact I can take cash down and pay when I want. I don't see the bad thing of using instore if they price match online? Keeps someone in a job so that can't be a bad thing really now can it?

So they price match their own website? not really a basis for arguement though.

Theres enough deals/vouchers and quidco to make booking each aspect alone much more cost effective these days.

Apart from the job losses and initial travel disruption this will be great news for the UK economy when they finally go under.

Oi churchill, if I had anything in common with him, I'd have to kick my own ass.
