Anyone else like those quiz machines you find in pubs?

I always find myself on them playing Monopoly or Cluedo after a few pints.

Tend to walk away even a lot of the time but have had a couple of big wins on them. I've noticed that some machines are easier than others.

Just wondered if anyone else out there liked them as well or just thought they were a scam

usually 50p per game

Do they have to pay out a certain percentage of what they take?

I freakin' love quizzies...and quite often me and the Mrs will stop at a pub when we've got time to kill, predominantly for the quiz machines...the drink is secondary!!!

Ladbrokes have a number of these quiz games online - exact replicas of the games on the pub machines. Same price - 50p - £1 a game (although for some you can wager more) and they used to give you 20 seconds to answer...enough time to have a squiz at Google for a clue then get back to the game screen. Recently they halved that to 10 seconds, which isn't even enough time to think sometimes! Cheeky gets...

Smokers are jokers :p

if they weren't laughing and joking they'd be crying because they are addicted to cancer sticks which are slowly killing them and making them smell like a fusty old ashtray:-D

Nobody can resist the temptations of Hangman 'Bwark!'
It's missing on a lot of machines so Monopoly is often our second choice (Hangman's Haunted House doesn't cut it and we're sick of WWTBAM).

We do play a lot of the other games (1 vs. 100/ Deal or No Deal / Nuts etc.) but they seem to pay out less often.

yeah Hangmans Haunted House is c*** - whats that all about? You'd think it was more or less the same game just a different style

I remember a few years back I was mates with this lad whose brother was involved in the programming and build of these machines, and he told me that there was a design flaw in a lot of the machines that meant if you repeatedly tapped the top right hand corner of the screen when you chose your game and it was loading it would allow you to play for free. Never have seen this for myself but he swore blind he had and it was true

At some stage we had an engineer code that used to allow 3 free plays.

Does anyone remember a game called Golden Balls?
