TomTom Help

Okay time to get a new nav system. wanna go for tomtom cause i know them and used them before also wanna go for the one XL because its larger screen means its easier to use.

My problem is there are now 2 versions out. The new 2nd gen and the 1st gen. The 1st gen seems a whole lot cheaper with curry doin it for about £119.

My problem is i dont know what the differences between the different versions is. If its all system based improvements ie new firmware and new maps then I have no problems cause i can update these on Tomtoms easily and readily.

However if the new gen machines use new hardware, like newer set of chips or improvements that cannot be updated to the older gen machines then I would probably go for the new version 2 machines.

So what exactly are the differences? All help and advice appreciated.

* Slimmer, sexier than before
* Easier-to-use interface
* Make and share map corrections
* Folds up compactly

Only differences from what I can find.

Thanks anyone else?

There is no SD card in either but unless you want to use different maps I don't think you'll need one you can still add safety camera's etc. I have the one version 4 and love it.

This is a really good review http://www.trustedreviews.com/mobile-devices/review/2008/08/04/TomTom-One-V4-Europe-22/p1
