Top Gear TONIGHT BBC2 & BBC HD 8PM!

MOTORING: Top Gear
On: BBC 2 London
Date: Wednesday 25th July 2007
Time: 20:00 to 21:00 (1 hour long)

Polar Special.
In Top Gear's most ambitious and arduous challenge to date Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond attempt to race from Northern Canada to the North Pole, 450 miles away. The terrain in between is some of the toughest on earth - a mix of mountainous land masses and jagged sea ice where temperatures can drop to a mind-numbing minus 65 degrees Celcius. Jeremy and James will be driving a specially adapted pick up truck whilst Richard will be travelling on something a little less high tech - a sled pulled by a team of ten Canadian Inuit Dogs.

Seen all of Heroes S01 but *ahem* other means, SciFi and BBC2 awfully bloody slow compared to how quick Sky gets new stuff.

Season 10 Top Gear will hopefully be around September/October.

Bah humbug -- ive been watching heroes since april on the sci fi channel -- episodes up to 12 are really good but then i get the sense that this series is gunna be another LOST and go on forever -- so i gave up
#11
I've seen it all as well, but plenty of people haven't!

It's taken this long to get to BBC2 because they had to wait until the SciFi channel had finished with it. However, they have exclusive rights to S2, so there won't be so much of a wait (maybe).

Heroes won't go on forever, and they're following the "24 model" as opposed to the "Lost" model - each season is a different story, just featuring many recurring characters.

Top Gear has gotten 8million viewers before on it's Sunday Night slot?

I cannot see any american drama, however hyped and/or good, matching that on BBC2.

It is and remains BBC2's biggest show and one of the BBC's most popular shows.
#13
It makes Sundays worthwhile as you forget about work the next day for that hour.....

Well that's the thing, I'm on a work pc and need admin rights to use bittorrent programs. Bah! Maybe I can find it on easynews afterwards.
#15
Did you know Clarkson recently turned down a multi-million pound deal to create an American version of Top Gear? He didn't want to spend 4 months a year in the States :)

Someone record it and compress it to an avi file

My Sky+ Box has died and engineer isn't due until Friday (and before you ask, I don't have a normal aerial set up, as it's a wee poor signal area).
#19
I imagine come 10pm+ tonight something like

Top.Gear.2007.Polar.Special.PDTV.XviD-XXXXX or similar

Will appear available to download....

Not for me it isn't, I think it is all pathetic.

The Sun newspaper sells more copies than any other, doesn't make it a good newspaper.

I wonder what the carbon footprint is of Top Gear?:whistling:

The Sun sells about 4million or something iirc, afaik the decent papers outsell the tabloids, happy to be proved otherwise though.

As for Top Gear, luckyly you're in the minority and noone forced you to read this thread just as noone forces you to read The Sun :)

I used to upload a couple onto youtube, I was banned and it was removed for "copyrighted media", I uploaded it to google video and it stayed on there a lot longer! (As youtube is now in the news for different things, Its checked more often!) :giggle:

Plenty of Television shows require crews and presenters in convoys and have to fly to and from various locations, I doubt Top Gear's is that much higher if noticeable at all.

Vilifying Top Gear will not change anything.

Sorry, I thought that this was a forum for expressing viewpoints/ opinions.

Obviously not if they don't concur with your opinion.
#26
Happy to accept coherent, logical and reasonable points of view.

Hateful rants, well it's not my forum to dictate anything is it?

Doesn't mean I'm going to let such snide remarks go unanswered in my thread though :)

Well thankyou, that is what mine was, obviously a Moderator will tell me if it isn't.

I wouldn't call that particulary coherent, logical, or reasonable imo.

You are entitled to your opinion, to be honest I find some of your posts incoherent, but they are your opinions, and I am not here to judge them, you are entitled to give your opinion, as I am mine.
#30
I post a thread reminding people about Top Gear, loads of people thank me and are happy to be reminded to watch such a popular programme they like.

And you go and call it "all pathetic"

As I said before, if you found it all pathetic, noone forced you to read this thread and post such negative and childish remarks.

OK, so my view doesn't concur with the majority view, so what?

It is my opinion, that's all, no need to get out of your pram about it.

No one gave you ownership of the thread because you started the thread.

A forum is about opinions, no one forced you to read my comments.

A bit like this one then...
#34
Inactive you seem to only have posted on this thread to annoy and belittle Top Gear fans and to antagonise those who defend it.

That is what is childish.

Grow up tbh.
#35
Yep.... again an opinion.

Some of the members on this forum have a sense of humor and can take such comments in jest.

Obviously I should stereotype you as a broadsheet reading, hybrid car driving hypocrite with no sense of humor.
#36
Please respect each others opinions. Thanks :)

No, I posted on this thread to express my opinion, that is all, because you don't like or cannot accept that people have a different opinion to yours, you continually bring attention to my post.

Now that is what I call childish behaviour.

You seem to think that because you started the thread, that gives you some form of censorship rights over it, well sorry, it doesn't.
#38
Looks like a server error didn't show my post!

Ah well, Was only about pulling up a chair and eating some popcorn, Better than the movies in here!, lol!

I don't know how anyone can argue over a TV program, You either like it or hate it, If its the latter, Avoid this thread, Simple.

Thats the problem, he's come in here knowing what the thread is about just to disagree with all those people that the thread is aimed at.

He then tries to back up his arguement with the worst logic I've ever come accross.

Why?

Why?

For a reaction?, Boredom?, Who knows!! or infact who cares!

I like Top Gear, Always have done, Probably always will and I couldn't care less about negative comments about the program.
