Or spend 1/2 that amount and get a bike that does it in a 1/3 of the time

and kill yourself in the process when someone pulls out in front of you

i agree, i nearly killed idiot kid on a moped the other day
#8
whatsThePoint
So your saying no one has ever pulled out in front of a car :w00t:

car on car, you will stand more of a chance of being ok, than car on moterbike !
#9
whatsThePoint
So what has that got to do with the slow performance of these cars ?

You said bikes are quicker, the point was then made that your more likely to kill yourself on a bike.
#10
have fun getting golf clubs into a motor bike :p

bikes are always gonna be quick on acceleration but I would never step foot on one, they just seem like an accident waiting to happen.

Possible to get a lotus elise or a VX220 for 5k? might be pushing it but they must be pretty quick to 60

Had bigger things than golfclubs on a motorbike and the people who say motorbikes are dangerous are usually the ones who pull out on them due to not looking

the amount of messing around in and out of lanes I have seen bikes do makes them IMO dangerous.

you may be right in some cases, doesn't change the fact there dangerous. 3 people i've known have been killed on a moterbike, where as i don't know anyone who's died in a car crash.

More car drivers get killed on the road, its just a bigger % of bikers using the road that get killed as well

Cool story bro
#14
whatsThePoint
And i bet they'd all safely gone pass you by the time you noticed them

yeah as thier going tooo fast
#15

Lets me guess, you don't like bikes because they don't get stuck in traffic :whistling:

No not at all, i've been on bikes and it's a hugh thrill and i loved it. Would i get on one now i'm a mother, no i don't think so. Would i want my hubs or son to ride one, hopefully never.

Some bikers are stupid and not responsible road users the same with car drivers, but if something goes wrong who's gonna be worse off?

Around 50% of people killed on the roads are car drivers or passengers so you will know someone sooner or later
Bikers account for around 20%

So i'd say cars are more dangerous

But there are 1 million active bikers in the UK, with around 35 million car drivers:

http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/Reference-material/UK-Statistics.aspx

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_registered_drivers_are_there_in_the_UK

You do the maths mate.

Not guilty, this time :whistling:

bikes make up only 1% of the traffic and yet 20% of the road deaths which says it all really.

i have both btw and love my bike but they are and always will be more dangerous.

pain in the ass some riders especially when theyre overtaking on both sides of you or sneaking up in traffic.......i ride a bike myself occasionally but there are some muppets around

Here in Lincolnshire where the roads are flat and straight we get bikers versus sports cars, the bikers uaually come off the worst because they take more risks , this is why we grow so many flowers in Lincolnshire- for the roadside tributes

a good friend of mine, a really experienced rider on a gamma 500 was hit by an artic coming around a corner on the wrong side of the rd......it was from holland .......over 15 years ago now:(

most of the time its pillocks not paying attention tbf although there are a lot of idiotic riders also
#23
whatsThePoint
Something goes wrong with a motorbike and i agree the rider is in trouble but rarely will someone else get hurt
Problem with a car and it mounts the kerb killing pedestrians or hits a motorbike, another car etc etc

Personally i'd rather not be responsible for other people deaths but if your happy as long as your family is fine thats ok with me

sorry wait a minuite i'm just figuring out how i get a 2 year old and 9 year old on a moterbike and cause less danger to other people on the street

Get over yourself, i'm not saying riding a moter bike is wrong it just involes more of a risk yes to yourself and not others.
#24
whatsThePoint
Yeap some riders are muppets as with some car, lorry, van drivers

which i already said in a earlier post, what is your arguement?
#25
I have a mate who absolutely loves bikers and regularly wishes that it piddles it down on a bank holiday, his job.................... Transplant Coordinator for the LGI.
#26
whatsThePoint
if your female you wouldn't understand this but it's called agreeing with someone

so what do i need to agree with? bikes are safer than cars :?
