Did you mean SD card rather than DS card? If you do but one in the UK make sure it is a good brand. I had a cheap one die on me.

Do you mean the Micro SD card? If so, I'd get one from play.com

whoops yes, sorry meant the sd card to go in the dsst, also does the dsst card stick out form the ds? or same fit as r4?

yes, I'd order the micro SD from play - I think they are cheaper, and easier to sort out if there is a problem.

It fits flush...it's identical in size to the R4.

My boys have got an R4 in one DS and a DSTT in the other....the DSTT is as simple to use, but does seem to be slightly slower when loading the games.

Yes, wehave both too. Never had a problem with either and haven't noticed the speed difference tbh. Now that you've said it though, I should check

I bought a R4 from an Amazon MarketPlace Seller. The R4 worked perfectly, but the SD card (included with it) died on first use.

No it's not that bad.....maybe a couple of seconds...it might be the SD card he's using though tbh. I actually prefer the TTDS card (my yougest uses it and the menu screen is easier for him to use).

Yeah.....sorry Liddle

NP's - I won't check it then! Never experienced any noticeable difference so it's not worth worrying about anyway.

As above sassie, I wouldn't be put of by a slightly slower load rate. I'm sure midlandscomics can assure you it's not a problem worth worrying about (unless you are **** about these things :p)

Got a couple of dstt+2gig kingstons from DX recently, both are fine. A second or 2 loading a game don't bother me and i find it runs the problematic roms such as 'castlevania portrait of ruin' with ease, this game will crash if the cart+mem card combination isn't up to speed.

I hear the R4 doesn't get updates anymore, I guess it just out of fashion now since it only support 2GB non-sdhc memory cards.

The last time i got the dstt+2gig kingston from DX it cost £15.37 delivered, which I thought was an astonishly good price.

save starting another thread, we have one game on the r4 card that keeps returning to the start up screen, its donky kong jungle (think thats what its called) i have removed the game and re added it, but it still does it, do some games have blips in them once put onto the r4?

yes, works with Micro SDHC - have hundreds of games on that 8GB card if you want, and other stuff too. Music etc.

no, there is no real need to update unless they release a new version of firmware which fixes some glitch or perhaps takes account of a new game that won't run otherwise. Unless you come across a game like that, then just stay on the firmware you have. I've never found the need to apply an update yet on any of them.
