Once you have utorrent or a similar torrent software on your pc simply go on a torrent site like isohunt, bt junkie etc... find what you want select download after checking its legit (look at comments) then when a box pops up select "open" then utorrent will open automatically and the torrent starts downloading:thumbsup:

(i think thats what you were asking?)

yeah basically you get 3 warning letters, the fouth warning letter then they will cap your speed, if you get caught again then they can cut your internet (which from what they said on the news wont be permanent)

to be honest if you got 3 warning letters and still downloaded stuff you would have to be pretty stupid!

exactly, cant say it worries me at all, giving you 3 warnings is hardly going to stop anyone untill they get the final warning, I would stop there though, lol dont fancy slow internet or missing my daily fix!

yes thats the gist of what i am asking. i didnt understand if you downloaded it to say vuze, then went to the torrent or vice versa or both at the same time. are all torrents sites the same then or is there one better than another or is it lucky dip.

if you mean you want to download a torrent, then just follow what I said above, I recommend utorrent as the software you will need:thumbsup:

no some torrent sites are awful, its a shame but the best ones are slowly dying off, Isohunt was good but i tend to use btjunkie now.

Once your torrent software is installed you dont need to open it simply go to the site (btjunkie for example), select download for what you want, when the box pops up asking if you want to "save" or "open" the file, select open, this opens utorrent automatically and starts downloading, once its finished the file will be saved in your my documents folder in downloads:thumbsup:

EDIT:
I cant stress enough though that you must make sure you read the comments for the file your downloading, make sure people have confirmed its legit as they are a minefield for viruses.

need to download a file to fit in with the topic to show understanding and debate the ways its relevant to the topic she has picked. once we understand how to do it then we can do the rest around that. i guess its one of the pc things you have to do to understand hence the reason its set. so far as i know at the minute.

aha, ok, will do that for sure then, to check it out. i think i only used something called limewire once to find the details of an old song, but it didnt use torrents then, as i didnt have a torrent programme. mmm. its getting clearer now. will give it a try. can always delete if doesnt work or ask for some help again.

whats the name of the file as perhaps someone else can download it and email it to you if legit and small enough?
#22
d/l vuse or utorrent, then go to mininova.org (all files in there are legit after they lost a court case) and read any user comments, look for ones with more seeders than leechers as will d/l quicker and you may have to tweak your firewall slightly to d/l torrents

thanks people we are getting somewhere with it. the topic is to do with understanding how these work and discuss the impact with examples. one of those courses that selects a topic that tries to keep up to speed with trends.
