most ISPs caps internet during peak hours 5pm to 11pm so you cant get great speeds unless im mistaken :S cos i never get great speeds during those times

Use smoke signals.

i use azureus and dl from btjunkie check the the settings as most only allow a small number of people to connect to you increase this number and away you go
#5
speed has nothing to do with which software you use

forward your router port...

dont forget to use peerguardian and/or protowall to keep RIAA and MPAA at bay
if possible also use proxy in your torrent program (dont expose your IP address directly to the internet)

or else youll be getting letters/emails from your ISP warning you of "unreasonable use of the bandwith" first,
an then later they'll use that as an excuse to get access to your internet conection log and .... after that who knows what will happen

Utorrent etc.... Throttle back your GLOBAL UPLOAD speed by about 10-20% of your ISP's max upload speed. If you leave it at full whack it kills the download

Also bear in mind that torrents need time to start up, especially on public trackers. The more seeds/leeches isn't necessarily better.

speed will depend on the thing you download - how many seeders compared to leechers! not what site you use

One of the fastest ways to get movies is to... buy DVDs. Assuming that it takes 10 minutes to get the nearest HMW/Virgin/WHSmith, 5 minutes to browse and pay and 10 minutes to get back, this gives you a data transfer of 5GB per 25 minutes, i.e. equivalent of a 27 MBps connection - faster than any broadband you can get. I know it's not free, but you were going to send a cheque to the producer/artist after you have downloaded the movie/song anyway, weren't you?

It doesn't matter how good your computer is, it depends on your internet speed.

the best sites to use are demonoid or funfile. you dont download rubbish cos if you do you get banned so everyone behave with what they upload and the speeds pretty good too cos the servers are only limited to their members.
