Expect the usual no fans faces to whine he's injured bla bla bla.

Can we safely assume he was fed up of Rafa?

How long until the journos try and twist this one........

Look forward to hearing from those who 'guaranteed' he wouldn't be with us next season :)

Why don't you just save yourself the trouble of starting a new thread and read an old simular one HERE Since it'll just be the same replies from the same people again

I always did say he will stay.

shame, he deserves to lift trophies.

Anfield club doctor made up, as he'll be in full time employment guaranteed for at least one more season.

Surely United's doctors have been much better looked after, they keep adding players to that list.

Thats awesome news for Liverpool. On his game, best striker in the world. Easily.

Just hope we can bring in a good back-up for him so that we're not reliant on him alone.....Ngog is at least another season away from being worthwhile cover.

I wouldn't mind Huntelaar on loan, or even Crouch tbh... either would work as a lone striker (in our formation) or alongside Torres.

You'd have thought he might have looked at what David Villa did and realise that eventually you have to leave clubs to play top-level football. I doubt any club could commit the money Liverpool would be asking given his recent form and injuries though so not too surprising.

Hopefully he can get back to the form and fitness he was showing in his prime.

And top striker - not quite. Villa has a better record and was chosen ahead of him for Spain, and (on their day) I'd take Drogba ahead of him.

I fear torres is the spanish michael owen. once a great striker who's now a shadow of his former self due to injuries and lack of ambition. such a promising youngster.
However I'm sure the europa league will provide him with a great platform to get his move back to his one true love, athletico madrid.

I hear that he's agreed to stay for one more season, after which we'll make a move for Kris Boyd (we wanted him this summer, but he wanted to move to little-scotland, just south of Hartlepool) - he'll tear up the Carling Cup for us in 2011/12 :)

I guess not winning the league for over 20 years would leave a somewhat bitter taste in the mouth.

Possibly; we haven't been good enough over that time, and it has been hard watching a certain Scotsman transform an average team into probably the best team over the last 15-20 years or so. I'd love to know if he'd have been afforded that much time in the present day game in order to get United up to the level he did in the early 90s.

Seeing as this was supposed to be a crisis summer for us, starting off with board sacking Rafa so that they can bleed us dry and sell our best players, thing's haven't turned out too badly.

Looks like there'll be some more Kenny Wang news by the end of the week too :)

+1 Not sure why I would be bitter about Liverpool not winning what we desire. I accept United/Chelsea/Arsenal have been better then us domestically over the last 20 years. Just don't post crap about Torres being pap when he stays (and no desire) it's called being honourable.

Can't see the Mr Wang deal happening by the end of the week.

Just had to laugh at Mr Alfied, basically slapping Roy in the face because he chose to go to a bigger club, and a potential stepping stone to the England job.

I never thought he'd leave this year. I don't think he'd move to another English club and the only other viable options, Barca and maybe Inter don't want him.If Liverpool have another terrible season though, and an offer from one of those two clubs comes in next season then I'd expect him to be off.
